The infield we had tonight, that is the infield that needs to be trotted out there 95% of the games next year. Gorman DH, and we have to grin and bear with Willy behind the plate.

100% agree (as long as Winn is ready full-time by next season)

Want to see this as well and get Donovan into the lineup between OF/platoon spots infield. Time to end the Cardinals have 5 MLB Outfielders routine when the results don't match up

I am not ready to say this team has given ip. However, when you trot out the pitching staff that the Redbirds have at this point in the year, sometimes it is hard to compete. Last night their best pitcher did not have it. And the results speak for itself. Flaherty and Montgomery were front line starters, and I fully understand the need to move them. However, the Cardinals received prospects. So other pitchers in the organization were moved into their spots. This organization, in my view is is short of major league pitching talent at this point and the results show.

THATS A WINNER !!!!!!!!

Cardinals beat the Mets 7-3 to avoid the sweep..................

Hudson with another good start , getting the win to improve to 5-0.................

Goldie with 3 hits including the go ahead 2 run homer..............
Palacios with a great catch in center to rob a HR...........
Edman with a great throw to nab a runner at the plate late in the game.........
Jo Jo with another excellent 9th inning , 3 up 3 down.....................

Mr. Rom , a deadline acquisition makes his first Cardinal start tomorrow night on the road against the Pirates......

Knizner had a very good comparison of Rom to Madison B.

Waino looked great for 3 innings then reverted allowing 6 runs.........

most action for the Cardinals was Contreras and Marmol getting tossed for some absurd strike calls by the blind as a bat HP ump.....

next inning the mild mannere Jordan Walker also got tossed.......Again I say this has been the worst balls and strikes umpiring that I can ever remember...............many strikes have been called balls and pitches 4-6 inches off the plate have been called strikes....
The Contreras fiasco came with the bases loaded and 2 of the 3 strikes were DEFINITELY off the strike zone...........smh

Looking at the NL standings is infuriating. This is a historically bad team for our Birds and we are only 11 out of the wild card. Just being mediocre gets you a chip and a chair for a shot at the playoffs. I believe I read that statistically we have a top 5 offense this season. So I have hope this could be a quick fix, but then I look around at farm systems and teams that are already bringing these kids up and making differences and I get nervous. The Reds seemingly bring a new dude up everyday.

The magic number is down to 35. That's when the season ends.

Cardinals beat the Pirates 6-4 and avoid the sweep.............................

Palacios was excellent with 3 hits and a walk...........
Jo Jo Romero closed it out with a minor hiccup in 8th and 9th.................
Knizner with an infield hit followed by Winn with an infield to get his first career RBI.......
J. Thompson with the win and an above average start

On to Philly and next game is Friday evening...............................

The only hope I have for TON right now is next year is a contract year. Such a unique dude with a ton of skill.
