I mean whatever, other than UNC, who makes more sense than us?

Instead it's some weird amalgamation of Cal, Georgetown, Marquette, etc.

Marquette makes some sense because dwade used to be a Jordan brand guy.

I dunno, it would be cool to have the jump an on our bball stuff but I don't think it's that big of a deal. Just so long as we are not Adidas. That stuff they come up with is usually sleeved hot garbage.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but it seems as good as any. The new bus look is pretty sweet:

The new look busses that'll carry #Illini teams from this point forward - thanks @PeoriaCharter for the partnership

Looks like Nike has released all of the summer/fall gear for this season. Best places I found to have it is fansedge or the BTN shop. Based on the search there seems to be a lot more shield items than last year.:shield:

Cool. I didn't find much to my liking last season.

Just saw in a tweet that the logo on the football field will be updated this season:

Mike Waddell ‏@IlliniWad

Will be the enhanced "I" which is our primary @IlliniAthletics branding mark. It will be in place for 9-4-15 win

This was in response to another tweet when Mike Waddell was asking about what fans wanted to improve the fan experiences:

Robbie Jeffers ‏@WRJeffers10

@aroux94 @IlliniWad while we're at it, let's update the Midfield logo....#victoryshield

Well, that should be worth a win or two. ;)

As I understand it, Nike has a two-year window of exclusivity to produce Shield apparel. I wonder if we'll make it the primary logo after that, when we can put it on everything. That would be my vote. :shield::shield::shield:

I'm thinking that the :illinois: is here to stay as the primary mark. You will see the shield a lot more once it becomes an open mark, but the Athletic Department needs to stick with the updated I. I truly believe that it is the best thing to come out of the rebrand.

I agree. And the :illinois: should be our primary logo. It is what I hope to see at midfield this season.

Although I can live with the :shield: as a secondary logo, it still hasn't grown on me and still looks awkward to me.

See my post above - it is indeed the logo that is going to be midfield.

One tweet said they will be on the road 52 weeks a year - curious what all they will be used for other than hauling the athletes.

I think they will possibly be used occasionally by teams other than football and basketball. Also, the buses may be used for regional PR events maybe.

I figured that, but guess I just didn't think the other sports would cover 52 weeks is all. I could also see them using them for the caravan events like you mentioned for PR events.
