None of the local vendors ordered anything but the Orange 15 jerseys. Nike offered all vendors the 1, 15, 50, 77 in Orange, Blue, White and Grey and the only jersey combo that came back meeting the minimums required by Nike was the Orange 15. The Orange 6 and Grey 77 jerseys are leftovers from last year and are limited. Jerseys do not make up much of the gameday sales. Good article on the subject found here http://www.news-gazette.com/news/local/2015-09-04/lawsuits-effect-fans-left-only-generic-jersey-numbers.html

Even online is very limited--I can't find blue, just orange and white. The other thing I never really noticed is that other than the shield, you can't determine it's an Illinois jersey. Fine for when you're with other Illini, but if you're just wearing the orange (esp out of state) it just gets a lot of questions. Auburn? Clemson? Texas? Tennessee?

False. I work for a local vendor and the first my boss (who does the sportswear ordering) heard about the different numbers and colors was when I told him about it when it was posted on twitter a month or so back. He immediately called our Nike rep and he had NO CLUE what we were talking about.
Orders for stuff like this are typically done MONTHS in advance and Nike usually doesn't even have mock ups to show us, just product names and numbers and we have to guess how many to order sight unseen for most products. We didn't eve order the 15 football jersey because that's all that was offered to us back in winter/spring since we didn't think it would sell.
We wanted this stuff badly, we were just going to order the 50 and 77 in a couple colors, because we knew they would sell really well, but we never got the chance.

Thanks for the info. I've been a little frustrated with the rollout of new gear from Nike since the rebrand. It seems like Nike is doing the bare minimum to put out new gear.

For whatever it's worth, I watched the game at my younger brother's place yesterday, and both he and his girlfriend seperately told me "wow, I really like Illinois' uniforms".

Also, if anyone watched Oregon-MSU, I am as big of a fan of what Oregon has done as anybody, but of course no one bats 1.000. Was that....glitter?

Really liked this Illinois uniform combo. Thought it looked very sharp, especially the orange accents on the jerseys. Also thought the white :illinois: on the thigh pads was an awesome touch. Nothing like it on any other team that I saw.

A few teams have been popping up with the thigh pad logos, I think I remember seeing Kentucky and Michigan State having them.

Rocked my new illini 15 orange jersey this weekend- every asked me if it was a tebow broncos jersey. I live in TX

Didn't see them on MSU last night, but that might be because that ugly dark green made it difficult...

I hope we see the white helmets with silver Is again this year. Those were so cool they were part of ESPN's display

rehashing what I said 2 months ago.

LOVED the look on Saturday.

Really hoping we pull out the traditional O/B/O for Middle Tennessee

see, after the spring game I think I decided that White/Blue/White was possibly the best of our uniform combinations... love it (obviously the actual game blues are going to be a bit more dressed up)

I really do think for the Soldier Field game we need to play up the tie-in to the Bears.

I am really eager to see a traditional Orange/Blue/Orange soon though.

I would like to see W/O/G.

White Helmets with the chrome "I"
Orange Tops
Gray Bottoms

I had this thought at the game on saturday. They were showing some old old clips, and a pre-Beck clip popped up and it reminded me how much I hated the change to a blue facemask on our orange helmets.

One of Becks first moves. He came in, wanted some change at any cost and I guess he thought that was in the move to make the facemask blue? It changed rather drastically the look of our helmet, and imo cost us a really good helmet. And when the rebrand came around it was one of the things that Becks had us keep.

With the dust settled a little, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see us go back to this. See Cubit do his own thing a little, and remove some of Beck from the program. It is a more classic look and with the white I, it's perfect. The blue facemask is just too dark.
This makes us look more like Illinois.
And this post is not without visual representation.

@wILL-INI, I once shared your thoughts after they changed the facemasks from white to blue. However, after the rebrand and seeing what other possibilities are out there that other teams are doing, I've changed my mind on this subject. I personally think that the facemasks should match the helmet color for the white and blue helmets - white helmet with white facemask, blue helmet with blue facemask. Blue on blue goes without saying. I think a white facemask on a white helmet is a very sharp look that will always be in style, as shown by the Canes photo.

For me, the jury is out on the orange helmet. I think a white or blue facemask would look good, but I was curious what an orange facemask would look like. Orange on orange is probably a bit overwhelming, I admit, and I wasn't able to find any examples. However, the most similar thing I found was Utah's satin red helmet with matching facemask. Looks pretty sharp IMO. If there are any graphic artists out there that would like to take a crack at it, I'd be interested to see how that looks.

From the helmet stripe, to the shoulder stripe tothe shoulder logos. these are some of my favorite jerseys of all time.

Absolutely! Mine too. Of course, these were the uniforms we wore during the best Illini football season in my lifetime, so its likely why I like them the best.

I wish we would've stuck with the same orange color helmet as we had for decades rather than go with the metallic orange fad helmet.

I think that has always been a problem for the Illini. I have an old Kendrick Jones #84 Orange jersey everyone thinks is the Bronco's as well.

I ordered an Orange 15 for our companies annual spirit day, then realized I'll be at a client site....

I really want the blue jersey, can't find one that isn't old design.
