Not sure how I would feel about silver football uniforms, I like the silver for basketball though. Not sure what the difference would be, just weird to me.

The Fightingillini.com online store shows it pretty well, plus my pictures don't due it any justice. The sleeves have the column motif but the front and back are just flat material. I am happy with my purchase. Be warned these are not cheap.

The word, straight from the horse's mouth, is that the silver football jersey's are not available in stores for now but will be eventually.

The DIA was tweeting that the grey jerseys wont' be worn this year...

(although it could be that Gameday Spirit jumped the gun before any press release or official reveal happened

I hope we have a couple alternatives in the pipe for the future.

My dream is still a futuristic throwback to the Grange era... deep navy blue uniform with neon orange stripes.

There's no way Nike would have made grey jerseys if the team wasn't going to wear them this year.

I think we'll see generally orange jerseys, orange helmets and white pants at home and all whites on the road. There will b a variant or so but this will be the main combo. Just my opinion.

Think about this... Why would nike make silver jerseys when they could make white if there are no silver uniforms? Maybe as a third jersey to sell but not instead of white. Now if only we knew when they were going to wear them! :D

i haven't been able to find them online anywhere. Any ideas of who and when we will see them. Also what was the cost?

i take it the numbers are iron again or did they actually get classy and sew them on? If not ironed I would love to know how to get a jersey that way. The numbers always peel off after a few washings.

wish you could buy the jersey without the number on it or be able to pick your own number? No offense to Josh, but I'd rather wear #43. lol

If you look on the jersey Dre Brown is wearing, there are subtle columns behind the front number. On the Nike replica "#6" home jersey, there are no columns. Not worth the $100 or even the $70 it costs for me as a student STH.

To me, the replica jerseys look more like soccer jerseys than football jerseys.

The columns got moved to the sleeves on the retail version, but I agree. I'm holding out until the whites become available

I saw a new model Thunderbird painted in a reproduction-original torch red.

Heh, some unsuspecting Hoosier is now driving around in [temporary] Illini Orange!

All I'm saying is its not unprecedented for there to be jerseys released to fans that don't see the field. I imagine we will be wearing silver at some point.
