Fanatics has more of the rebrand stuff than anyone.

How about this hat and other stuff?

Will somebody please just sell me an orange t-shirt with the shield on it? That's all I want. That seems like the most basic possible item.

What's the deal with the graphic there? Is it shiny or something?

(Thanks for the heads-up though)

Last year Nike used the chainmaille pattern as part of their design. This year's is called the "warp speed" pattern that is sublimated on many items either in the logos on items or the materials themselves. Fanatics has some items with that pattern. It'll likely be on most of the football gear in some way, shape, or form.

I agree that navy helmets are probably the least-desired item of things we aren't getting, but more combinations is better than less.

I don't understand how most schools (even indiana) get ALL their stuff. All their jerseys, all their helmets etc. the very first year that they unveil their re-brands and goofy alternative stuff. Yet it seems like we are only going to be getting some of our stuff rolled out this season. Would much rather have the dark blue jerseys used with the orange and white ones rather than that god-awful looking gray one.

It's because we're rebranding the whole athletic department. That means the school has to get new uniforms for every sport. The school only gets a certain dollar amount of free merchandise from Nike every year. The school can't or doesn't want to pay for the blue uniforms this year, so they're waiting until next year. I'm actually surprised a booster hasn't offered to pay for them like they did the blue pants on our last uniforms.

This makes sense.

Well, when your basketball jerseys are just as ugly as they were years ago and you still wear those gaudy candy cane, barber shop pole warm ups.. it's easy to fund other sports.

What happens with all the B1G Network money? The athletic department can't spring for a full complement of uniforms?

It's probably being used to balance the budget when you're only drawing 45K fans to football games, paying off 2 former coaches, etc. :D

But seriously, the uniform cost isn't really that much money in the grand scheme of things.

Exactly. We could easily afford all the new jerseys.

If we end up w/o the blue ones this season, I would suspect it has a lot more to do with us being way down on nike's list of importance.

The customer is always #1 on Nike's list of importance. But nonetheless, I have found this ongoing trope in this thread to be an amusing Illini Inferiority Complex morsel.

Exactly. If we haven't ordered them it is almost certainly too late and the pictures from photo day today seem to suggest nothing blue is around. Perhaps this is why the alternates were purchased as another jersey could've fit into budget but not pants and helmets that match. Even Oregon orders their things with a 6-9 month lead time.

What does bother me is the stripes. The fact that they don't match doesn't matter if you wear the same color pants, jerseys, and helmets, but the inconsistencies start to seem glaring IMO when you match the white pants and orange jerseys.

Also, more pictures of the grey basketball uniforms seem to suggest that they don't have the zig-zags down the side. Whether you like the design or not, wouldn't you think it would be good to stay consistent with at least the four styles revealed for this season so far?
