Exactly. If we haven't ordered them it is almost certainly too late and the pictures from photo day today seem to suggest nothing blue is around. Perhaps this is why the alternates were purchased as another jersey could've fit into budget but not pants and helmets that match.

Are we agreeing? I feel like we aren't.

What does bother me is the stripes. The fact that they don't match doesn't matter if you wear the same color pants, jerseys, and helmets, but the inconsistencies start to seem glaring IMO when you match the white pants and orange jerseys.

The striping is inconsistent even if you wear the same color from head to toe. For example, the striping on the orange helmet and jersey is blue/white/blue, but the striping on the orange pants is blue/orange/blue.

New uniforms are great and all, but I agree with you on the inconsistency in a number of elements of the uniforms. Hard to believe when consistency was preached as a hallmark of the rebrand.

I really wish they didn't mix and match the top n bottoms... It's the small details that are bothering me like the diff color stripes.

I'm guessing the orange pants are meant to be worn primarily with the white jersey and helmets since the striping matches them.

Has anybody in power actually confirmed we won't have the blue jerseys?

I don't have anything official, but I can offer this. I teach at Urbana High School and Beckman's son was in my class ( great kid by the way). The day after the unveiling of the rebrand which I attended I was talking to him before class and told him I liked the new uniforms. He agreed but told me the blue jerseys wouldn't be available this year. It seems consistent with what I'm reading on this forum, so take it for what it's worth.

Three months since the rebrand and I still am dumbfounded that we can't get the blue jerseys this year. I liked when we did the Bears look last year with blue helmet/blue jersey/white pants.

No matter what the colors are for the rebrand, there is going to different variations of clothing made. That is just the way NIke is. It is the same for every school.

Yeah, I would imagine that same shirt is available in school-color-and-gray for every Nike school out there.

Yeah its like every time Nike comes up with a new shirt or something people freak out. Its just how they do business. As a fan I like all the different options. Not sure what people are expecting. (I get that people at least want the logo consistent).

Couldn't agree more. AND, how many of us do not have grey t-shirts/sweatshirts etc. with Illinois logos. I know I have a closet full of grey, orange and blue. Hell, my daughter has a pink Fighting Illini t-shirt.

I don't think Nike or the athletics department have the authority to change the school's official colors, which was my point.

They were delegated the authority to change the athletic's brand. It's not as if our colors are grey and black now. Orange and Blue are still the primary colors. Nike added silver and gray as secondary colors along with white. Hardly earth shattering.

Never said it was "earth shattering". But Orange and blue are the official school colors and they, along with white, can make great combinations. Don't see the necessity for adding grey (or silver) except, of course, as a way to sell more merchandise.
