Nope. I think that will be the most common home combo all year. I guess you can switch the helmet from time to time to white or blue. Personally, I like the orange/orange/white combo.

When Beckman first came to Illinois he expressed a preference for orange, since Illinois is the only school in the Big Ten with that color.

Women's soccer lockers look nice.

I put a video of the team seeing them for the first time over in the soccer thread - caution: lots of high pitched squealing! ;)

I would be one to buy the official jerseys. I'm so tired of paying $100 for the iron-on versions where the numbers peel off by the end of the season. I'm sure this style will last a few years so if you kept it for a few seasons it would pay for itself

I think the Victory Badge has staying power. Most people are in the luke warm to really like it category (no strong hate over it). That's a good starting point for a totally new symbol. Over time, it will become more strongly associated with us and we will feel a stronger sense of attachment. Long after the uniforms have been redesigned 20 times, the Victory Badge will endure.

My thoughts exactly. It will become more and more prevalent as the years go by. I've heard rumors that a lot of the new Illini branding at the SFC will center around the "Victory Shield" than what was previously expected.

I will echo here what some of my feelings are on the new I vs. the Victory Shield that I have said to others over PM.

Personally I believe that the DIA has no agenda over what the logo is. I think that they know they really need more than one logo, something more exciting than just a plain old I. That being said you can't have just an I everywhere, there needs to be something with a little more flair. To go along with that there also needs to be something a little more traditional. These two logos should help accomplish that goal. At some point we may see more use of the shield than the I, but if people don't like the shield for an extended amount of time, I'm sure it'll disappear eventually (but it seems like that's not the case, especially among the young recruits and next generation of fans).

I feel the fans that don't like the shield are the fans with a deep connection or strong feeling of support for the chief logo. I don't mind the shield, I think it is a clean looking logo and like how they use it as an accent on the football uniforms (collar). I like the look on those soccer lockers, but as far as putting it in the center of the bball court or football field, I am not in support of that.

I really like the chief logo, but it isn't coming back. I understand both sides of the chief logo argument, but it isn't a logo that will come out of retirement, IMO. I am open to moving forward and hope the shield is something that helps to fill that void over time.
