Seems to fit the type of hire JW would make too....

I don't go very deep into coaching skills/capabilities, but based upon our recruiting results and the product I see on the field, I can't imagine there's anyone worth keeping. Bring in the broom.Do we retain anybody (Patterson?) or is this a clean sweep? Thoughts?
I wouldn't consider him risky though.Thinking outside the box, and someone I suspect 0440 wouldn't be excited about...

This would actually be semi-exciting considering what he did at NIUThinking outside the box, and someone I suspect 0440 wouldn't be excited about...

He's already come out and said he's been offered a lot of jobs but isn't interested in leaving liberty unless it's a "special" job. He's already turned down south Carolina idk why he would come here. I could see him going to Auburn though. What about Hugh Freeze @ Liberty?
God noWhat about Hugh Freeze @ Liberty?
Mike Golic Sr.I do not think this was a spur of moment decision. I did notice, as I suspect many others did, that the coaching staff seemed to just let the game clock just wind down yesterday. Didn’t look right. You get possession with 6 minutes left, and you have your timeouts, so you should compete. They didn’t. It made me wonder if they knew they were done. Then Bob Golic said something about “we don’t know what the future holds” and I wondered if the word was already leaking around the press box. Not that you needed to be Kreskin to see this coming.
I haven’t heard the words “Josh Whitman is smarter than any of us” for a long time.... He was (is) a young hire from a division 3 school who had (has) a lot to prove. Next to Thomas he looks like a genius but giving him credit before success doesn’t help him grow into the AD we all hope he becomes. In life~luck, out working others, and building culture all play a part in success. I hope he (we) get lucky and the new coach turns out to be the right guy. This happens and five years from now I’ll be willing to say Josh Whitman is the smartest guy in the room. I hope I can say that! I want to say that!I look forward to him once again proving he’s smarter than any of us. BU is a home run. Lovie was a stabilizer but ultimately flamed out. Surprised all of us.
Think of that feeling when he hired BU. From Who? To ok. To what a steal. All within 2 weeks.
Depends on what listAre the names that people hearing on these lists or is it someone else?
He’s had some relative success at NC St too. Don’t know anything about him other than that, but he almost seems similar to BU hire. This would actually be semi-exciting considering what he did at NIU
Still laughing. Probably my favorite post of 2020. Thank you.Why anyone would ever type these words is beyond me. I'd rather not have a football team.
Is he still Amazing? (Is he still alive?)A Kreskin reference...both rare and well played. Leipold or Jeff Monken for me...unless JW can make the miracle hire of Fickell ( yes, I know...ain’t happening)
I bet Auburn has contacted Fickell anyway...”Want to test yourself against the very best? Go head-to-head with Saban”
I do trust JW to make a good hire...Lovie was not a bad hire, it just didn’t work.
Can you definitively say it won’t be Malzahn?Depends on what list
Not yet "proven" --- true. But you have to admit he carries himself extremely well, he gives off a great vibe. he nailed it with his MBB hire, and he bleeds orange and blue.I haven’t heard the words “Josh Whitman is smarter than any of us” for a long time....
