So what you are saying is it'll be LL, his OC will stay at Buffalo and keep the entire O staff, and we'll only get his DC? Got it!

This was LL's final round of interviews. I'd say he passed with flying colors. Something feels so eerily similar to Illini football, I definitely think we struck gold here.
I hope it's gold, and not fools gold.

I still think it’s Bielema. He was lined up to take the Southern Miss job. Every public source said he was taking that job. Then he backs out the day before the announcement. So that makes me believe he’s got the Illinois job. I don’t think you turn down another job to only interview somewhere else.

Leipold I just don’t see it. Given how important the IL HS coaching relationship is, it has to be a guy that already has those relationships.

If it’s not Bielema, it won’t be Leipold. It’ll be a stealth candidate.

How come no mention of Tony Elliot the OC from Clemson or Steve Sarkisian?

First Post.

This is not as bad as the huge lead Buffalo blew in the 2018 MAC Championship v N. Illinois game.
That was a football disgrace.

After tonight - In 6 years at Buffalo:
Lance L will be 12-21 vs teams with winning records and 12-25 vs teams rated in the top 100 (Massey Ratings).
He has done well lately at Buffalo but doesn't an AAC level move for LL makes sense before the Big Ten?

LL can have the Cinny job after Luke Fickell comes to Illinois?

I have no insight into just how well of a schemer and true program builder LL is, but Its hard for me to get excited about him and trust that he can build a struggling P5 program into a winning program. I have trouble believing him and his staff will be able to connect with recruits due to his age and lack of brand. If I were to go for any MAC coach it would be Sean Lewis from Kent St. I dont care for a douchey retread like BB either. I would go for Freeman from Cinci or Leonard from Wisconsin and I love the idea of bringing Leman and Scheelhouse. Some might think its crazy, but I think getting a guy like Sunkett from ESL as an OC would be great. What he has done with that program is elite level, I think he has the mind and connections to be a rising star in college football coaching.

Or are you needing more busch light to celebrate him not being our next hc?? Thats my take on it tonight lol
Man when you see the beat writers trying everything they can to side step tonight’s performance, I’m afraid JW made another bad hire. Truly frustrating. At least beer is cold.

Lewis has the profile you love in a younger coach but the results aren’t fully there yet and the offense is super dependent on the qb so it’s kinda risky. But he has everything we’d want. From Illinois. Played big ten. P5 coordinator. Now building a program as HC. Only like 35.
I agree
