“Hi Luke? Josh here again. I know you said to stop calling. Just hear me out. 30 million for 5 years guaranteed. Please please please please please take it.”

Maybe Cousin Eddie will take care of at least getting Luke in for an interview?

Interesting 10 hours ahead of us:
1) Buffalo waxes Ball State 49-10 tonight and we all jump on flight tracker by 11pm.
2) Buffalo eeks one out or loses, and this board goes into full meltdown mode.

I like both scenarios to be honest.
3) Buffalo gets blown out 😳

And let's be clear, it would be that absolute height of idiocy to let one game (let alone one half) dictate the view of Leipold as a candidate. Overreacting to small sample size is a one-way ticket to failure.

But the fundamental questions, for me, of this process, are what is the overall plan, and how robust is that plan to inevitable headwinds it's going to face.

And I said pages ago, it is probably not viable to think you're going to import this whole staff and hold them together for four years to build up pedestrian recruits. That's an extremely weak, swiss cheese plan. Reality is going to run that over like a freight train.
Yes, agreed on the small sample size, but this would be one hell of a hard sell for Josh.

Illini football forums are where the real entertainment is at. We're the glass is 1/4 empty crowd for sure. I luv you guys. Can't wait to see how this turns out and, even better, what everyone thinks. My new hobby is readying the posts in this thread and trying to figure out who is JW.

Not impressed with watching LL team, and I hope the DC is not coming with. My concern with LL being hired is the recruiting will be the same. Watching tonights game, I see same type of players as the Illini currently have.
To compete with the WI, NW, MST, NB, etc, you have to recruit those type of players. LL recruits players passed over by these teams. Just like Lovie did.

Like many Illinois games..i find myself asking why am I still watching this?..eerie similar? Is it because LL and jw spent all week together vs LL game planning?

So what you are saying is it'll be LL, his OC will stay at Buffalo and keep the entire O staff, and we'll only get his DC? Got it!

This was LL's final round of interviews. I'd say he passed with flying colors. Something feels so eerily similar to Illini football, I definitely think we struck gold here.

Does the LL Train at least have a gambling car or poker table? Maybe some good tequila?

As much as I like Nate, he wasn't very accurate in the passing game. We need a QB coach who can help the QBs with their mechanics, placement of the ball, and footwork.
I do like the suggestion of JL as an LB coaching assistance.
I'm 100% on board with JL as a LB coach.

I think Nathan Scheelhaase would make a great QB position coach. Contrary to your perception of his accuracy, he was statistically a very good Illinois QB. Nathan Scheelhaase vs. all time Illinois QBs: 1st in Season Completion % (66.74% - 2013) 2nd in Career Completion % (62.96% - Jack Trudeau 64.02%) 3rd in Career Passing Yardage (8,568 yds. Jack Trudeau 8,725 yds, Kurt Kittner 8,722 yds.)
