Tommy DeVito’s family eating up his primetime Giants moment: ‘Three hundred’ cutlets
What a whirlwind this has been since Jersey Guy Tommy DeVito became the talk of all the towns in and around Cedar Grove.
You're fired. You make too much sense. If you're a Bears exec and there's only a 40% chance of your QB panning out, then you better draft at LEAST two. EVERY YEAR. LOL Offensive line you say? Yes. Very much so. I'd pick Harrison if I could wrangle it, maybe look DL for two, but I think I want Center or Right Tackle as our number 2. If we had some pass protection and dominant run blocking with Fields, Moore, MHJ, Mooney and Kmet I think you just might have something. And fire the staff (that goes without saying but I thought I'd mention it because internetz).I wouldn’t take a qb round 1. I think there is a lot of qb talent outside of those qbs. If you don’t have a line it doesn’t matter
If I was a team who had a high draft pick i would pick DL or OL. Maybe I pick Harrison if he was available because he looks like a good NFL player
Should have been 4 straight but in the game against the Jets they would not let him throwTommy just won't quit. 3 straight wins for a bad team and still all the media attention
Those last two bullet points though...You're fired. Also... excerpt per CBS Sports - Cody Benjamin.
Here are just a few of the ways DeVito made the all-time archives, per the CBS Sports research team:
Inserted under center after both Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor suffered injuries this year, DeVito now has eight touchdowns, three interceptions and a 96.5 QB rating in six games for the Giants. He is 3-1 as their replacement starter, leading three times as many wins as Jones did before going down, with a Week 15 matchup with the Saints on deck.
- First undrafted rookie QB in NFL history to win three straight starts without an interception
- First undrafted rookie QB in NFL history with a 100+ passer rating in three straight starts
- Most rushing yards by an undrafted rookie QB in a game (71) since 1970
- First Giants QB to win three straight starts with a 100+ rating and zero INTs since Fran Tarkenton in 1970
- Third rookie QB since 1970 to win three straight starts with a 100+ rating and zero INTs, and the first since Dak Prescott
This guy is priceless.....talk about leaning into it.![]()
Tommy DeVito’s agent Sean Stellato is the ‘Italian Stallion’ of sports agents
DeVito has not been shy about playing up his Italian-American heritage and Stellato, his agent, wasn’t either.nypost.com
This guy is priceless.....talk about leaning into it.
Assuming he spends the rest of the season on the active roster, he'd be just under $500K given that he spent eight weeks on the practice squad ($12K/week) and nine weeks on the active roster ($44K/week).Jersey Mikes needs a Tommy and Danny commercial.
Does anyone know how much Tommy is actually being paid
Sean Stellato to TDV: "Help me... help you!"This guy is priceless.....talk about leaning into it.
Quick question, does anyone still think Altmeyer has a higher ceiling than DeVito?
At the collegiate level......100% yesQuick question, does anyone still think Altmeyer has a higher ceiling than DeVito?
Can we agree that comparing what Altmyer can provide for Illinois to what DeVito can provide to the Giants is fruitless?
This is like me going on the bball board and asking if people still think Podz isn't vastly superior than Dee Brown. It's not going to be a "collaborative" discussion.
That's the old reasoning behind the Bears not having a good QB since the 40s. It's where they land as much as who they are, and historically the Bears have not developed QBs. Then you layer on that the luck factor (someone ahead of you gets hurt, etc.) and agree the margin is razor-thin.This continues to be the Year of the Backup QB in the NFL. Backups doing things all year all around the League.
And this shows that there are numerous guys over the years that could have had decent (or better) pro careers if things in their time had changed just slightly. The difference between a becoming famous name and someone who has to go pack up home and do something else is razor-thin.
And that applies to all pro sports.
WHAT did you just say about Dee Brown??!!?Can we agree that comparing what Altmyer can provide for Illinois to what DeVito can provide to the Giants is fruitless?
