Guess he had enough of the OC search!

Maybe. It sure isn't going to make the job an easier sell now. Oust stable of QB's is dangerously thin, and probably one of the youngest in the country. We'll have one upperclassman questionable QB in Crouch who was benched last year in favor of the guy who just left, one true soph, and two true freshmen (assuming one even qualifies). Yikes. I REALLY hope that whomever the new OC is can bring someone with him, or scour the transfer market and land someone experienced and serviceable.

I think we'll be ok w/o an upperclassman who had more turnovers than touchdowns..... wish him luck wherever he lands and he got a degree from his dad's alma. Pretty good deal if you ask me

I mean, he'll be behind Thomas, Rivers, and Coran (or whoever else we get for the 2018 class). So I'm not surprised at all. He has a good enough arm to get some solid playing time at a lower level school. Wish him nothing but the best. Opens up a scholarship I presume.

It's more the depth I'm concerned about. Really hoping all is good with Coran. Best of luck to JGJ wherever he ends up. I hope he can have an Aaron Bailey type impact wherever that is.

Welp, I said a month or so that it was unlikely that Illinois seeks a transfer QB. Now, seems like it's a guarantee, with two transfers feeling possible.

I've been saying for months that a grad transfer QB was a high priority. Now, it is critical. Hopefully our OC/QB coach is on it. Oh wait . . . :tsk:

Are there any reasonable good QBs available for transfer

Follow basketball much closer, so looking for some help with the headline of 2 QB transfers in the same day.

Year 3 of the LS era, our QB situation as it stands right now for next season looks like what?

I think, in a nutshell, I’d describe it as “no more Beckman/Cubit QBs on the roster...and young/thin”.

Just hoping they're hearing about a graduate transfer backup QB coming with a offensive coordinator so he can start his senior year.

Maybe Brandon Dawkins from Arizona? Would make sense if they hire Rod Smith as OC/qb coach.

They are controlling the narrative here - bad news followed by good news. Thats my take. We'll see the football staff announcements soon, then followed by a transfer QB which was a "package deal" with the new OC.

At least, thats what I keep telling myself to stay sane... :thumb:

I'll have two of what you're selling.

And so, the house cleaning continues. As that album cover asks, Who's Next?
Who needs quarterbacks anyway!
