If we can get two lb’s, one cb, a lineman and one receiver in the transfer portal, I will be ecstatic.. of course, good quality transfers! Not that I’m asking for too much

Great to see.
Surprised so many are back. Thought there was covid fatigue during the season. Maybe thinking next season can be like previous years, and will be a much more enjoyable year to be at college and play football.

Great job by BB and company to convince players (who had a lot of options) to re-up. Perry, Carney and Gay are huge adds.

Heard BB say that he invited all current players to return. He also said that there will be a lot more players in the portal than there will be available scholarships so some of them are going to be disappointed.

The interesting thing with this year, all previous players can come back, no limit. So, if we max out on the 25 new players, we could still get a couple back, if they don't get the offer that they want. I don't know how BB would handle someone shopping, and then wanting to come back in March, but depth is important. So is wanting to be here.

Yes I'd like to see that once promising career reach it's potential
Why did he leave the team? I never heard what the reason was. He was one of our most talented players.

Has been said it was due to academics. He did continue classes in the fall and I was told he graduated.

Peep his last 3 twitter follows. I have heard some encouraging info recently. Nothing concrete, but follow the breadcrumbs.
Positions in greatest need of bolstering for the 2021 season:

QB - any 4-star transfers out there? If not, I predict Peters will start and I hope to see IW at flanker (with 10-12 touches per game).
WR - Smalling would be a great start
LB - quantity required

1. DB
2. LB
3. WR
4. TE (Depth)

Reay the first 3 positions are interchangeable. Need 2 of each in the portal IMO.

We are likely not taking a transfer QB. Gone are the days of Jeff George Jr. And Crouch. We have QBs who can get the job done. Have a lot of depth behind them. Peters or Williams will be fine. What is sad is Robinson, Taylor, Spann, and even Collier would have started over George and Crouch.

On the flip side, Robinson has proven he's not a B1G quarterback and Taylor (while a smaller sample size) showed that he's just as likely to yield a big play for the opponent as he is to lead a scoring drive. We really have no idea what we have in Spann and Collier. Williams has demonstrated he is a threat to run, but only infrequently flashes passing ability. With Peters, it all depends on which Brandon shows up, and unfortunately, the really good one hasn't been seen much

Given the bodies in the room, I don't see them chasing a QB, but someone in the Peyton Ramsey mold would do this team a lot of good. Completely changed NW's season this year

Most 4th and 5th string QBs in are not P5 guys. There is not a vet that is gonna come in and sit behind Peters and Williams. We are fine at QB. Robinson does have experience. He seems like a dude that ends up coaching.

We need our two linebackers to get healthy. We really missed them at the end of the season. Barnes and Tolson are experience along with Cooper. I guess you can always use good depth especially at that position.

Smalling was extremely frustrating while he was here (drops most obviously) and it wasn't looking like he was going to fulfill his potential. I'd rather look elsewhere. If we keep bringing back the same guys then are we just hoping coaching makes us noticeably better?

I see your point it was my first thought. But we have hardly any WR's. Hope we use our TE's more.

Henry To'o To'o (LB) and several other Tennessee players have entered the portal.

All name team, let's get him
