Is the TRO the last chance TSJ has at playing for the illini again?

Seems to me any hope of a deal is over. Maybe that changes if TSJ can get TRO. Then hopefully DA will be more interested in a deal knowing the leverage of TSJ being able to play again is gone and the case seems to be on shaky ground in trial.

I just read the sworn report filed on Twitter. I do have some legal background (20+ years) the facts listed in this case don’t come CLOSE to being probable cause to make an arrest. The detective even states in his report the 2 of them are not seen on camera together. There is no physical evidence listed to tie TJ as the perpetrator. The victim only was able to identify TJ after google searching for people and identifying him which would NEVER hold up in court. This is a he said she said with what I gather is NO evidence and again…would never have been charged in MY personal opinion. This is why people sometimes lose faith in our justice system. I feel so awful for TJ and I pray he gets justice and the courts here in Champaign county do the right thing and grant his motion Wednesday. I agree with his attorneys stance that this will cause irreparable damage if this continues. I for one think this motion will be granted Wednesday.

#9 in the affidavit.. didn’t see the results of that test anywhere? I’m guessing that could be the physical evidence

I said a week ago there needs to be a countersuit to stop this ridiculous tactic. So many hours of many people'd lives wasted on straight BS.

If there's any indication how much of a distraction this would be if he were to be reinstated, just look at Pop Isaacs at Texas Tech. In their last game at Texas, he was booed every single time he touched the basketball for the entire game and was also heckled with "No Means No" when he shot free throws. Now, that could be the rivalry between Tech and Texas but is also an indicator that student sections will use that against him at most arenas for the rest of the year.

I want TSJ to come back and there's a lot of fishy stuff to this story but is it really worth the distraction to this connected team if new evidence isn't brought forth? I don't want this team to have asterisks next to their name if they make it far to be told that you made it far with someone who shouldn't have been playing. That will be the national media story and many will run with it.

But, hoping that something changes or the charges are dropped or new evidence comes out in favor of TSJ

I would think that BOOM would be for something bigger than that. Like the charges are being dropped because all that his lawyers wrote is actually true.

I think the BOOM was for this. It's pretty major news. And, with offense intended towards insiders, when you're sitting on a secret or something, especially with this level of interest, any bit of news feels massive.

Well you can’t get fingerprints from cloth underwear. And there’s no semen to collect. Just because they collect items at the hospital doesn’t mean there’s any evidentiary value to the items. Now I’m not saying there isn’t. But if there was significant evidence it would have been listed by the detective in that sworn report.

I have read the docs, but would encourage you to read my post again without the orange colored glasses on. Again, I think the evidence is flimsy and shoddy but the fact remains that a charge was filed, a warrant issued for arrest, and a criminal case in progress. The university has a process in place to which they followed and the result was a suspension. I simply don't believe a court of law is going to get invovled in a matter like this to rule on how a university discipline panel should operate, esepcially when it seems clear that no civil rights are being violated. Further, if an injunction is granted and they play him without panel reinstatement, that's basically the university admitting that it's own process is flawed and broken (which it very well may be) and I don't believe the university would that. Would be much better to have the panel reinstate him and then play him or better yet the case dismissed.

maybe some type of DNA and it wasn't in any reports because it wasn't available at the time. I could be wrong. Devils advocate.

Um. how the heck this does happen? TSJ had one arm another lady.. the other hand doing some type of magic lock picking without anyone noticing... It must be a super short skirt. In my limited experience, this is not easy...

I call BS on this otherwise, TSJ should be the next Harry Houdini!

I don’t understand how this plays out for this long if the complainants story does not line up with VIDEO EVIDENCE. Is there not somebody in the LPA or DA’s office that can see this is a shame of a case?
