The good: TJ apparently still very much wants to play at Illinois.

The bad: If I’m reading this correctly, TJ’s lawyers are saying no due process because he wasn’t allowed to be present at the panel hearing. I think that’s enough to grant a TRO. But I think the most a Court could do is issue some sort of writ of mandamus directing the panel to reconvene and allowing TJ to be there to present his case. While I think the case is weak, I’m not sure there’s enough exculpatory evidence to overcome the credible allegation that TJ violated University Policy which is the basis for the suspension.

And this probably honks off the panel. At least according to Josh the Panel could reconvene at any time. It’s unclear if TJ request they reconvene and that he be present and they refused, but it doesn’t look like it. I would have asked first and then filed for the TRO if they refused.

And the filing makes reference to the case dragging on past the NBA draft. DA is still the key here to me and it doesn’t seem like she’s budging.

You're assuming things about their positioning and her build. His wing span is long enough that it's possible for a woman that's of at least average height.
My question is unless she has eyes in the back of her head, how in the hell does she know who did it. Could have even been the girl.🤔

I will certainly be happy for TJ if he gets reinstated and or the restraining order allowed him to play again, while this apparent miscarriage of justice is resolved. However I have not seen anything that mentions if any DNA evidence was found during the visit to the hospital. Did I miss something?

Um. how the heck this does happen? TSJ had one arm another lady.. the other hand doing some type of magic lock picking without anyone noticing... It must be a super short skirt. In my limited experience, this is not easy...

I call BS on this otherwise, TSJ should be the next Harry Houdini!
I would love to hear what either the girl on his "other arm," or other guy at Shannon's side, has to say about the minute-long encounter.

Also, there was an early story running aorund that Shannon and the girl had exchaged texts later, with him issuing her an aoplogy. If, per this, no words were exchanged, I don't see how they later exchanged texts. Has that story been debunked?

I didn't see anything in the report that made me say, "No way. That didn't happen." It all seemed plausible to me. Crowded bar. Drunk people everywhere. Loud music and confusion. Fear. Disbelief. I can see a scenario where this happens.

I can also see a scenario where, as hard as it may be to believe (sarcasm), that some young lady in Kansas doesn't know who a certain college athlete may be and does have to try to use pictures to identify them. Again, not really out of the realm of possibility and doesn't point to some grand conspiracy.

Bringing the charges they did with what appears to be a complete lack of evidence seems like a case built on a very shaky foundation.

Like you said, it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

This was my read on it as well. Shaky but plausible. He said, she said.

I also find it a little curious on item 6. Nothing airtight by any means but just a little strange.

If the girls were leaving the bar and at the door, then turned allegedly turned around to go back to TJ - how did she have a drink in her hand (and a cell phone in the other)?

I've definitely left a bar with a drink before. I've also definitely chugged a drink on my way out and handed the glass to the bouncer. But - if youre in a crowded bar where you can't move its usually hard as hell to get a drink. And when my drink is gone and I can't get another - that's usually my cue to leave.

Like I said - not airtight, but definitely curious.
I worked at Ted's Warehouse while in grad school at EIU and on busy nights, we'd switch to plastic glasses fairly early in the evening to let people leave with their drinks (even though that was probably not legal)

The optics of TSJ filing restraining order against his own University cannot look good for recruits. Even if they are actually in on it. Hopefully the real story, whatever it may be, clears the air in the future

I maintain hope all is well, but I'm getting a sinking feeling this is going to get ugly
It should get ugly. There is no due process, no presumption of innocence, no fact finding and no accountability. If you read the complaint, UUIC already has a policy featuring all of these protections for these situations but the DIA goes illegally beyond the student policy.

I hope the entire policy is ripped to shreds by the court system.

My daughter goes to youth group at the warehouse on sunday evenings...has nothing to do with this thread but Ted's has changed!

What about the alleged texts between TJ and her? Or was that just part of the speculation.
That would require her to have TJ's phone number. How would she get that exactly? KU cops give it to her?
She didn't even know which BB or FB team he played for, much less his name.

I thought it was stated at one point that it was social media DMs. I might be misremembering.
