Up 22-21 ....gained control of game and miss 2 FT from your best FT shooter. Huge Turning point that no one will talk about
The whole 3 minutes following taking the lead was the story here. Missed FTs, shots not falling, etc. Uconn couldn't score. We were up by one and should have been up by 10 by the time Uconn scored again. Such an odd game.

Just stinks to have one of our worst shooting games on that stage... especially against a team that we had possibly our absolute worst game of the season against earlier. I do not believe UConn is better than us, but we're 0-2... and that's all that matters.

Great season. It'll hurt tonight, but this will be a season we talk about for generations!

Great season

Thought the better team won. They were better about everywhere.

With the passing abilities position wise through the team, you can have only 3 team assists (or go 6-26 from 3 and expect to win). Game prob closer than should have been

Bad time to have our worst offensive performance of the year- UConn didn’t do anything unexpected- we just dug too deep of a whole

Fun week to make a final four but this game leaves a very sour taste in my mouth- we had the better team and didn’t come close to playing our best

Pay the bank, keep the core and go back next year with experience and limited Fun! Vets!
Exactly. Keep the core together, find a dynamic PG( hopefully with size), and ideally a couple of athletes to play on the wings. I'd be inclined to leave the Euro market alone this off-season. Need much better athletes.

Let's face it, the chances of us or UCONN beating Michigan or AZ was remote. Beating those two teams is the goal.

Gonna miss the toughness of Boswell and thought Humrichouse was better this year. Missed free throws, bank shots and not getting defensive rebounds just killer tonight. Wish we could have made it a game though.

We out rebounded them by 7, but had some timely mistakes and we arent going to win shooting 34% from the field and 23% from 3. Wagler 2 -10 from 3 is not going to win many. We needed Purdue Wagler here in the Final 4. Be happy, reload, and win it all next year.
We didn’t get the rebounds we needed and couldn’t put it back in when we did. Agreed our shooting percentage was low. Their 60% free throw shooter made 4 in a row and we couldn’t there was a lot that didn’t go our way and we had open shots

Rough one… hate to go out not paying your best game. Cap tip to UCONN. I don’t like them but gotta respect what they’ve accomplished. Not to worry though, this Illini train is just getting rolling. It was a great ride and we’ll be back here again much sooner than 21 years. ILL

Don't hang your heads young men. You took us to our first final four in over 20 years. You played your hearts out but our shots weren't falling and they were getting all the lucky bounces. The Illini nation is proud of you and all that you have accomplished this year. I am confident that we will make our way their again soon with Brad and his coaching staff leading the way.

Out rebounded them by 7
Exactly. The team fought and gave every last bit of effort. Simply can't win missing so many shots, and even then, it was still a 4 point game with under 2 minutes left.

Some of those rim outs go in, we win. Really that simple. UCONN had a banked in 3 and one that hit every part of the rim and fell. Those things happen.

Heck of an effort to make it a game in the end, with so many missed shots.

We’re all the way back. All is well.
Our floor is 2 E8’s or better in the past 3 years.

Our returning core (hopefully) stormed into the F4 winning every game by 12 or more.

Super, fabulous, elite year to make it this far in the tourney - awesome job players and coaches - really, really think about it - we've set benchmarks for this program that have never been accomplished before - looking forward to next year already - retain as many players as possible and bring in only the best that will fit the squad - this can be repeated now - we know how to do this - was quite the ride - we fans loved and enjoyed it - thank you very much - PTL!

One of the best seasons in Illini history and the back and forth in tonight's game showed toughness. I really enjoyed it.

Congrats to UCONN - (BTW that staggered screen they ran with the 3 point shooter running strong side to weak side... looks awfully familiar to the final four 21 years ago). But congrats to our guys for picking it up and then defending much better in the second half.

The UCONN double on the ball when it was in Wagler's or Boswell's hands worked well. But again great job by our guys reading and reacting. They realized in the second half the game was going to won (if we were going to win it) at the rim.

I can't put into words just how impressive, even tonight when nothing bounced our way and how well these kids reacted and played.

Under 1pt per possession — 0.985

Only the second time this year that’s happened — UCONN at MSG day after thanksgiving (0.931).

In those two games combined, we’ve shot 12/55 from 3 (21.8%).

GROSS.
It would appear we should study how we can’t score against UConn
