The lesson today folks is to play your best player when he is able to go.
If they held him out because they thought they could sleepwalk through this and save him......I'm not outspoken like this often and I love Brad, but he mismanaged a season in just one game.

They'll need probably.....3 significant road wins to overcome this one God awful home loss.

I hope that you're wrong on this. I really do.

Just lazy ball. Seemed like we thought we could just hang around and eke out the win. Yes, USC was making everything in the 2nd half but we were out-rebounded by a terrible rebounding team. Just standing around a lot.

Defense in the second half was terrible. Kids need more fire and to play with pride. Coach needs to take responsibility for how we look against inferior teams.

And what was that terrible offensive plan in the last 5 minutes. Just dribble around and try to get it to Hum??

Let’s see, 11 am game, they’re underachieving and are in desperation mode with something to prove, we’re coasting on big wins, we’re missing our best player, and their best player has the game of his life. Yeah that’s a recipe for a loss like this.

It’s disappointing, but it was possible. We will be better than this going forward. And we do need KJ back.

It was 9am for USC. There’s no possible way we should have lost this game given how we’d been playing.

What? Losing at home to a team that likely won't even make the big ten tourney when you are supposed to be the big ten title favorite. This is flat out a horrible loss by any standard.
Did I say it wasn't a bad loss? Can we not act like we don't lay an egg like this every year? We beat Penn State by 39 when they were down 2 of their best players. Let's not act like this is such a shock. This team will 100% be fine

Stop me if you've heard this one before. We lose to an inferior team on our home court and make it much more difficult to win the conference and get a really high seed in the tourney.

My glasses are always orange tinted, but this is beyond frustrating. IMHO these types of losses are what keeps BU from becoming a truly ELITE coach.
What about how often the offense simply devolves into standing around and chucking 3s or just 1 on 1 iso ball?

Watch someone like Hurleys offense at UConn is completely night and day.

Absolutely outplayed all around. Shorter team killed us on the boards, got to the basket time and time again, no one guarding 3-point shooters. No defensive effort. Our offense was stagnant from the start, no energy, where in the hell is Ivisic lately? It appears to me that KJ will not be available against the Hoosiers on Tuesday. I think his injury is more than they are letting on. This loss will sting for weeks. They need to learn they have to play hard for 40 minutes-start to finish. I never saw any of that today period.

Rebounds matter, they wanted the ball more than we did. Sure they out toughed us, and out shot us. Rebounds will equate to effort and wins. Also, we need a 6'8"ish stopper. USC played better, tougher and just beat us (Claude with 31, and we had no answers).

We better learn how to play against this style of basketball, I think we'll see it a lot. Muck it up and send everyone to rebound.

It's not a curse. Underwood teams are just consistently underprepared to play early home games. It's pretty inexcusable and starts from the coaching.

When your offensive sets are basically five out and then a high ball screen, standing around seems to happen way too often. It's the opposite of Weber's motion offense where players would just run around and not really know where to go.

Having some clearly defined offensive sets beyond high ball screen is not a bad thing, particularly when efforts like today occur. Sometimes, you just need players to run a set pattern a few times to get everyone moving again.
