Planning on watching the OSU/Wisconsin game Saturday night although I am not optimistic about the Badgers’ chances. And it got me thinking, is Paul Chryst UW football’s version of Bruce Weber?

I’ll hang up and listen.
Seems to be, but isn't he recruiting pretty well?

Does that mean that the early success Paul Chryst has was really winning with Gary Andersen's players and he hasn't really done anything with the guys he recruited?

Virginia trailing (3-0) Syracuse 19-13 with 10 min to go in the 4th.

Syracuse holds on to win 22-20. Virginia with an unlucky face mask penalty on what would have forced a 4th and long for Syracuse on their final scoring drive.

I believe most of their current success is actually Leonhard. Their defense is what wins them games and the Athletic has had at least 2 articles highlighting his recruiting prowess. Maybe a little Beckman-Campbell situation all be it Chryst is a much better version of Beckman in that scenario.

The thing is Wisconsin wins because Leonhard doesn't want to go anywhere else or even be a HC it seems and Chryst keeps running that Alvarez power zone style offense alumni aren't going to get too mad at him.

Illini were the answer to today's Aflac trivia question on College GameDay. Question was about how Kansas has longest drought for Power 5 school not being ranked in Top 25 with Jayhawks last being ranked that high in 2009. Who is #2 on the list? Answer was Illini who have not been ranked in top 25 since 2011.
What James Franklin did at Vanderbilt is one of the underappreciated modern miracles in college football.

Unfortunately, I was pretty sure the answer was Illinois. Win next 3 and that drought should be over.

Top games today include Clemson-Wake Forest, Florida-Tennessee, and Arkansas-Texas A&M.

Among the state schools, there's EIU at Murray State, North Dakota at SIU, Northern Iowa at WIU, and NIU at Kentucky.
