Wow, I've missed conference play. That was fun as heck. So much for Purdue running away with the title...

IMO, best coach in B10. Rarely gets big 4/5 stars and always wins. Izzo gets all the top 40 players he wants, Painter is the better coach.
As the resident Purdue skeptic, I have to disagree. Izzo is better in basically every metric and doesn't rely on highly rated recruits nearly as much as people think.

Purdue, imo, is the poster child of competence breeding complacency. In two decades, Painter hasn't been able to push Purdue into that MSU tier nationally. A good not great, rarely bad program.

They are very tough to beat because Edey is a cheat code. But they are an incomplete team. I expect them to win the conference but I don't expect Purdue to go to the Final Four nor do I ever expect them to turn the corner and become an elite program nationally under Painter.

You might need to tell our beloved.
That's part of what I mean. I like the Elam ending concept. But there is just something about the pressure that comes with it all being on you. After you are expending so much energy, you have to calm down and take an easy shot.

It's just kind of a crazy aspect of the game.

I agree that Izzo is better in most areas… But…X’s & O’s as far as his creatively devising /adapting/tailoring his system to fit his personnel…I say advantage Painter. JMO

I'm going to start feeling bad for Painter if his teams keep finding ways to lose the unloseable games.
I only caught the entirety of overtime but sure looks like Purdues back court still isn't ready for primetime.

They looked pretty poised in in Hawaii against 3 top 10 teams. But apparently that has nothing on Welsh Ryan Arena.

Amazing outcome...almost beyond a shred of belief. Northwestern wins in spite of poor shooting at the line and extreme foul trouble. Edey was about as good as he could be and Purdue missed several threes down the stretch that could have iced it for them. But athletic competition can be a fickle suitor when looking to court the better team. NW was a consummate team in that game...and that is not a dump on the Boilers but a nod to the Cats for a special effort.

Did Bruce Weber have a face lift or a lot of Botox recently. Gosh Purdue has someone on the bench bigger than Edy. Red curly hair. Does Painter grow them in a lab ?

Always looking forward to seeing Bruce on the B1G network and guessing what hairdo he has in store for us.

Love painter but results matter. Great play with 3 seconds sending to OT but didn’t get the win. So far hasn’t won ncaat games to match regular season

Don’t mind seeing Purdue in last place 👌

They have another 7'3" guy committed for next year.

None of the giants Purdue gets are ever highly rated. I'm not really sure why more coaches don't look at a guy 7'+ that can move and say, I can work with this kid.
