We went after Huff pretty hard, but he wasn't interested; said some disparaging things if I remember correctly. Don't think we recruited the other two. Durkin's game always intrigued me; looks like he's grown a few inches since he left GBW for prep school.

I doubt Huff made any disparaging remarks. He went from pretty underrated to a hot commodity in a few weeks after a huge spring his junior year.
Also per Mike LaTulip who in an Illini Inquirer podcast said that it isn't a matter of just getting into the gym and shooting free throws for hours and hours but is more of a mental challenge. One has to go to the free throw line thinking along the lines of "You fouled me, so now you will pay for it with my two free throws". In other words, a positive attitude where you approach the line eagerly to make those free throws. You can't even say, "I can't miss these free throws" since the word "miss" is now in your brain and it will affect your shot.
A sports psychologist may be a requirement as it seems to be catching. Not a coach but just practice doesn’t seem to be an answer. Have always said I didn’t need to practice my crappy swing in golf because I had it grooved. May have some carryover in BB.
FIFY... looks like he turned 18 in April
Watching a bit of Georgetown/Holy Cross. So far, Epps has had a 3 blocked, committed a turnover, and hit a 3.

Epps with 22 pts 3 assists in a loss to Holy Cross. Took a terrible 3 from outside NBA range in the final minute. There were parts of the game where I thought we missed him, then he took that shot… was exactly the shot they didn’t need. No pass, good defense quick 3.

He also missed the layup that would have given them the lead at the end of the game. Took 19 shots to get 22 pts (7-19). And he still can’t guard. The guy he was on went off for 33 pts on 21 shots.

What a disastrous start for Maryland. The B1G has really disappointed in the non-conference so far.
UNC is in a struggle with Lehigh. See it's not just an Illini exclusive thing in the early going like doom and gloomers will have you believe

Yeah but losses to Arkansas state, JMU, UAB and Davidson in addition to games which were far closer than they needed to be are cause for concern.
The big ten is not that good this year. Purdue might be they only good team. I'm not sold on Michigan State. I hope we are good... But honestly who knows. The rest of the big ten kinda sucks

No one in the B10. Wisconsin beat Arkansas State by 29. Maybe they're thinking of Rutgers losing to Princeton.
That statistic doesn’t mean much when a majority of them are cupcakes.
Yeah I screwed the pooch on the Arkansas state loss but point still made, the record isn't impressive considering the competition.
3 games in and RayJ with 14 assists to 15 turnovers. Not great!

IU looking like they will pull it out. I don’t gamble, but when I saw that line at IU -26.5 I seriously thought about it. They are such a mess I don’t know if they could beat a competent high school team by 27. Free money.
