Updated B1G EM after a wild midweek slate with 4 of 6 games ending in upsets:

- Northwestern has finally overcome their 30 point beating vs Illinois to get a positive EM.
- Nebraska did not play as well as they did against Illinois, and the result was a bit of a blowout.
- Penn State continues to win games, now tied for 6th in conference.
- Michigan State continues to not win games, giving themselves pretty much a must-win game this Saturday to secure a tournament bid.
- Ohio State and Michigan are very bad and should feel bad.
- Rutgers is bad but continues to win close games. The Rutgers-Maryland game set back offense 50 years.
- Wisconsin has had a no good, very bad week, falling from first in EM with a favorable schedule to 3rd in EM with 2 effectively blown opportunities on the road.

AZ pulls it out. Whew, that was a long game. FAU and UAB are tied with 1:11 left at 67.

FAU not holding up their end of the bargain after we had such a great game with them!! Hoping they hang on in OT…
They’ve had opportunities. They could have had an alley opp to close out regulation and just overthrew it. So many missed bunnies. 0-5 in overtime.

They don’t look like the team we played in December. They really don’t.

Goldin missed so many easy bunnies and couldn't grab a rebound to save his life in OT. Night and day compared to when he played against us

They really aren't. It could easily be said we haven't beaten a good team this year.

We certainly had better resume wins last year but I think this team is much more dangerous. Hope it doesn't hurt us come selection Sunday
We've beaten some decent teams, but no really good ones. The conference is bad this year and our two non conference statement games(Marquette and @Tennessee) were losses. Can't put FAU in that category anymore.

When we win, we usually win fairly big, which has carried the day.

A win on Saturday will go a long way

I get that the models absolutely love MSU, and they are likely better than their W/L indicates. I also get that winning on the road in the B1G, particularly in East Lansing, is no easy feat. But I don't think beating what would be a sub 500 Big 10 team (if we were to win) is something that moves the needle in regards to us not having beaten a truly good team this year. Unfortunately I think our only chances of a good win the rest of the year are @ Wisconsin and against Purdue, and Wisconsin is doing everything in their power lately to make sure that can't be considered a good win either.

That being said, I do think this team is so much more lethal than last year. I don't care if we are a 2 seed or a 6 seed, no one in the country will be "excited" to play us.

Yea..this game is weird because if we win people will just look at MSUs record and say they suck. If we lose then we still haven't won anything.

It's hard to believe a team that's 8-3 in the Big Ten and 9th in Kenpom has as thin of a resume as we do.

MSU will be downplayed on here whether we lose or win.

Loss = how could you lose against a sub-500 conf team?
Win = MSU is sub-500, not an impressive win

And frankly, I'm not sure I can disagree with it all that strongly at this point. I was thinking they were indeed far better than their W-L shows this year, but then they went and lost to Minnesota.

A 3 seed is looking pretty darned unrealistic from where I stand. FAU is killing us.
It's still well in our hands. We need to pick off a game like tomorrow and Purdue or @ Wisconsin. Hoping we can get at least two of those games and obviously win the ones we should. Beat 2 out of 3 of @ MSU, @ Wiscy, or vs Purdue and don't lose any we shouldn't a three seed is very likely

It is, I just see teams around and seems like they have better chances to move up with quality games.
