I was in Section 106, decent seats. It was a great game with a bad outcome Saturday. Today was pathetic, to waste another superhero effort from Sale. :tsk:
Yep. Nuff said...

This series was a joke all around. A comedy of errors on defense. An extreme lack of run support, especially for Sale.
Mark Parent lets Sale go 125 pitches?!?!? Are you kidding me? Even Ventura wouldn't do that.
Poor hitting with RISP, awful defense at nearly every position. Shoddy pen work. BAD baserunning again. Bad managing.
Also, Tyler Flowers will eventually seriously hurt somebody after throwing his bat into the stands. Put some pine tar on your batting gloves for the love of God.
We're bad!
Yes, yes we are. And there isn't much reason for optimism. Our weakness is the position players, and we don't have anything remotely close to contributing there. It's easy to say punt and build for next year, but I don't think we have the players that will bring back guys who will make a difference next year.
In Future News: Jose Quintana tosses first no-hitter of career as hapless White Sox fall to Pirates, 4-0.
Tinkering around with fangraphs today...and look at this comically bad reality! There is only one team in baseball whose entire offense has generated a negative WAR. Can you guess who - and even more staggeringly - how far below zero?

EDIT: The defensive metrics would suggest we might just be the worst in baseball in this category as well! Dark days, friends. Still trying to figure out how to generate TWTW numbers on here.
This team is unfathomably bad. Run differential is now minus 67, worst in the AL. Unbelievable. And for a team that was supposed to compete. The craziest thing is the Sox have actually been lucky. Their Pythagorean record is 24-39, meaning they're currently beating that by 4 games at 28-35. The only team in baseball that's scored fewer runs is the Phillies. Every single NL team with their pitcher batting besides the worst team in baseball has outscored the Sox. Heads should roll.
Heads should roll.
No doubt. Robin is a joke, but this is all predicated by Kenny Williams completely depleting the farm system over the course of his tenure, right?
A completely fair point. Kenny mismanaged the farm system horrifically, and exacerbated that problem heinously by drafting raw toolsy athletes year after year that never panned out. A failure of epic proportions.
Quite literally, the only position players that are not a complete joke IMO are Abreu and LaRoche, and LaRoche isn't that good. Every other position is in need of a dramatic change.
I personally am not a fan of Robin, but I just don't think managers matter very much, and especially not in the AL.

You hit the nail on the head with the lack of position players that could even be described as adequate. You can imagine my shock when I saw Gordon Beckham mentioned in the same sentence as Evan Longoria earlier in this thread.
Beckham:Longoria :: Joe Borchard:Jermaine Dye
Generally, I agree with you - unless they over manage. I wish I had written down every time Robin flagrantly over-managed.
