I haven't watched a ton of Ben Simmons, but I just get that Michael Beasley feeling from him.
IMO Simmons is more talented. Better ball handler, passer, but worse shooter and rebounder. He's quicker and taller too.

Beasley's lack of production on the court was because of his production off the court. He has had multiple arrests involving marijuana and once for getting in a fight. I have not heard any character concerns involving Simmons.
Anybody have some sleeper picks they are keeping tabs on? I think Brice Johnson could help some teams.
Ricky Rubio is a comp for him

For GP2?
Everything I'm seeing says combo guard. I think E'Twaun Moore is more of a comp for him.
In any event, I haven't seen mock drafts with him in the first round, I'm not sure how we even got onto this subject.

Moore can shoot from 20+ feet. Moore is a bad comp imo
Payton shot 31% from deep. That's not great, but he's not Jaylon Tate.
I still don't quite understand why we're breaking down a 2nd round pick from Oregon State in such depth.
Cause someone said he'd be a star
Actually the person said they wouldn't be surprised if he (GP2) turned into a star. It originally started because I said I'd take him before Ulis.
In all actuality I do think this is going to be one of those drafts where there's a greater than average number of players who are drafted much later that have better careers than lottery picks. I just don't believe this draft that have that much depth. However these are the drafts that separate the great franchises from the rest because they are able to spot talent and develop it to extract the highest value.

Isn't "depth" exactly what you're describing?
No, it means what it's described. This describes how speculative all of the talent is. Depth would be me saying top to bottom there could be a plethora of impact players. Check out this link when you get a chance and it will describe how varying a retrospective draft can be for a weak draft class.

Funny to see Ben Bentil on the 1st round fringe on many of the mocks I'm seeing. I recall last year in the pregame thread v Providence reading that they had no viable bigs, and our only concern was Dunn. He made himself a lot of money last year.
That was mostly me, I think. That sophomore leap was huuuuge though. Kris Dunn did Kris Dunn things as expected, but nobody would have predicted Bentil to have such a breakout year. Prop for him, he was impressive.
Brian Windhorst @WindhorstESPN 1h1 hour ago The Phildelphia 76ers have informed Ben Simmons they will select him with the No. 1 pick Thursday, source says (@ChrisBHaynes 1st)
Not a big surprise although some were guessing maybe Ingram.
However I saw this a while ago about Ulis. I think he was originally picked by some to be a lottery pick, one guy had him going to the Bulls with their first pick. I see Draft Express now has him going 33rd. Big drop in bucks, if true.

I'm going out on a limb and predicting Ulis does not get picked.
