That seems very reasonable. Call Eaton your Rizzo and try to mimic the Cubs rebuild. I'd keep Q this year and then decide next offseason if the team will be ready in '20 - if yes, keep him; if no, trade him.
Would the fans have the patience for a full teardown? On one hand, frustrating when the Cubs are good, on the other, the Cubs are good because they did that.
It's what I'm all-in on. We've been so bereft of prospects the last 10 years that I'd love to watch some young players develop. We've already got some nice pieces that we know aren't going anywhere to keep things entertaining - Rodon, Anderson....Collins, Fisher, Burdi further down the line. I'm also excited to see Charlie Tilson get a crack at full time duties in center next year. Narvaez too.
It'll be nice to go into a season without the grand illusions about contending with a roster of ill-fitting pieces. Take your time, get it right.
