Care to put out any names you've heard (or think would have strong connections to Underwood)? If not, no worries. I'm highly curious about realistic, high-end candidates to keep this train rolling. If Mennenga is seriously interested, that's huge.
Rock Island native, Daniyal Robinson.
Never heard of him, but after a quick search found his daughter was just named a 3rd team All-American in volleyball as a freshman. Perhaps she could transfer with him!Rock Island native, Daniyal Robinson.
Making 285 a year so just in terms of salary with the numbers that are being thrown around, we could easily lure him away I'd think.Rock Island native, Daniyal Robinson.
Guessing he's out of work ATM. Prohm was let go at Iowa State.Making 285 a year so just in terms of salary with the numbers that are being thrown around, we could easily lure him away I'd think.
Retained by their new coach.Guessing he's out of work ATM. Prohm was let go at Iowa State.
Well, damn!Retained by their new coach.
You saying Chin gone too? They are all fond of BU. They enjoyed working for him and are going to help him anyway they can in the transition process.
Not really an issue. Far more important is the opportunity our program presents and a big raise (assuming BU makes an offer).Well, damn!
Now the negative articles are coming out.
Column | Possibility of losing assistant coaches hints at program’s ceiling - The Daily Illini
It was March 14. It didn’t matter that the Big Ten had Michigan — which Illinois beat by 23 — as the Big Ten regular season champion. Illinois had just won its first Big Ten tournament title and secured its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament since 2005. After the Illini finished the...dailyillini.com
This is kentucky. You can get a history degree for photocopying the world book encyclopedia.
This is such a weird thing to report. "According to fans on message boards who claim to be insiders".
Hey, he does have 34 followers on Twitter...I mean this with no disrespect, but I do not value the opinion of someone who has only been alive and old enough to follow Illinois basketball during it's worst stretch in recent memory. The author didn't experience any of the extended good times. The program's ceiling is clearly higher than where we are now.
This. His intimation that we were nearing blue blood status (on the heels of 1 VG season) is an absolute howler.I mean this with no disrespect, but I do not value the opinion of someone who has only been alive and old enough to follow Illinois basketball during it's worst stretch in recent memory. According to an article from about a month ago in their local paper, he was retained.Guessing he's out of work ATM. Prohm was let go at Iowa State.
Robinson would be great here.According to an article from about a month ago in their local paper, he was retained.
He's a college kid writing about college basketball for the college paper. His perspective is not without value.I mean this with no disrespect, but I do not value the opinion of someone who has only been alive and old enough to follow Illinois basketball during it's worst stretch in recent memory. Didn’t mean Kentucky. Just going pro. G- league or overseas. Just think he can develop while getting $.Nah KY has nothing to offer him.. Reduced playing time, a worse PG and iffy cast of players since they are all untested. He is way better off at Illinois! Without question. His 3rd year will be about being comfortable and in the spot light
WeWillWhen: “This isn’t so complicated. Kentucky is Kentucky, and Illinois is not.”
And we can thank our Lucky Stars for that. Kentucky has a deeply embedded entitled-feeling fan base with tons of stifling pressure on everyone. If you don’t win it all every single year, you’re worthless. In Illini Nation, we have a legacy tradition second to none in the World and a passionate fan base that appreciates even the smallest hint of great success. And a special High Mountain to climb against all odds.
Winning at Kentucky is simply no big deal. Winning at Illinois is taking a proud program up to Basketball Mount Everest. Which is the greater accomplishment? Just another banner to hang up there with all that other laundry or playing a role in creating a special destiny and rewarding a deserving patient fan base?
Coach says we want people who want to be here. Amen to that.
Do we have any sort of connection at all? Or did you just randomly pull out a name? Seems like a good, potential replacement, but sometimes people throw out names like that, and people believe there is a connection when there are none at all.Rock Island native, Daniyal Robinson.
