Usage rates were wildly different. I've said this before, Cook was a better shooter but the biggest difference has been to this point Cohawks inability to stay on the court because of fouls. The per 40 numbers are much closer for their sophomore years. That doesn't take anything away from Cook.I like Coleman but Cook was a much better HS player. He was a scoring machine in HS and from day one at Illinois. Great post moves and outside shot. Coleman runs better and may end up better but there is no comparison between freshman/sophomore Brian Cook and freshman sophomore Coleman Hawkins.

Mr. Basketball of Illinois 1999 | Lincoln’s Brian Cook
Brian Cook lives for moments like these. There he was, hooping it up on a gloriously warm and sunny day with 35 schoolkids shrieking in delight at his every one-on-one move. The impromtu performance…www.chicagotribune.com

Agreed...L..A..D..reared it's beautiful head last night.... we were posting till around midnight last night...a few of the posts got pruned.. but so much fun!Loyalty the last 24 hours proves us Illini fans are indeed crazy. This is the most action I’ve seen on a non big commitment day ever, and I feel like there has been more traffic than most of those.
Brian Cook—- LincolnKruger benefited from an extraodinary run of downstate talent in Illinois

Maybe it hinges on Skyy Clark’s decision?I'm reading a lot of smoke, but not seeing any fire on the AC talk. Why wouldn't that be announced already?
I'm not rooting for anyone to leave, but wish them mostly well if they do. Or as Brad said, if they don't want to be there, they can play somewhere else and we'll kick their butt (censored for the children).
Sounds like BU and staff are going to have keep things simple till guys lock into new O and D principals. Lots of teaching going on this summer by staff... and I am not saying that is a bad thing at all.nope. it includes 3 transfers and a certain 2022 pg
Yeah, if we could get guys that are bigger, faster, better at shooting and defending...that'd be great. Maybe throw in passing and rebounding too. Also better shooters and defenders.....
For real. I’ve seen this movie before. All this over the top excitement over these nice transfer-in possibilities makes me think it might be time to put the Loyalty cup on. I've already been wearing mine to handle the transfer out rumors.
Interesting that all those teams have new coaches. Have a feeling we shouldn't be worried.More teams getting involved with Clark
I could be wrong, but thought 19-20 was the covid year, thus before he got to Illinois.Covid Year? Doesn't that apply to him too?
You are indeed wrong. 2020-21 they decided it would be a free year before the season started. If it had been the prior year, you'd have seen talk about Feliz coming back, which would have honestly been awesome.I could be wrong, but thought 19-20 was the covid year, thus before he got to Illinois.
Not to mention an explosive NBA caliber athleteTSJ would be such a huge get, everything illinois was missing last year. A guard who can not only shoot but attack a closeout + defensive versatility.
Thanks. Thought the lack of postseason opened that up, but maybe that was just spring sports that got the year back. You are indeed wrong. 2020-21 they decided it would be a free year before the season started. The only thing I can think of is the pecking order of the newcomers if we get Clark. Clark, Epps and Belo will be fighting for the same minutes.Sorry if posted but what would be the reason(s) behind Curbelo transferring, esp if he loves the coach and team?
