I like Coleman but Cook was a much better HS player. He was a scoring machine in HS and from day one at Illinois. Great post moves and outside shot. Coleman runs better and may end up better but there is no comparison between freshman/sophomore Brian Cook and freshman sophomore Coleman Hawkins.

Cook
freshman 9 ppg 57% 5 rbg BT rookie of year
soph 11 ppg 60% 6 rpg
jr 14 ppg
sr 20 ppg BT player of year

Usage rates were wildly different. I've said this before, Cook was a better shooter but the biggest difference has been to this point Cohawks inability to stay on the court because of fouls. The per 40 numbers are much closer for their sophomore years. That doesn't take anything away from Cook.

Loyalty the last 24 hours proves us Illini fans are indeed crazy. This is the most action I’ve seen on a non big commitment day ever, and I feel like there has been more traffic than most of those.
Agreed...L..A..D..reared it's beautiful head last night.... we were posting till around midnight last night...a few of the posts got pruned.. but so much fun!

Skyy
I'm reading a lot of smoke, but not seeing any fire on the AC talk. Why wouldn't that be announced already?

I'm not rooting for anyone to leave, but wish them mostly well if they do. Or as Brad said, if they don't want to be there, they can play somewhere else and we'll kick their butt (censored for the children).
Maybe it hinges on Skyy Clark’s decision?

nope. it includes 3 transfers and a certain 2022 pg
Sounds like BU and staff are going to have keep things simple till guys lock into new O and D principals. Lots of teaching going on this summer by staff... and I am not saying that is a bad thing at all.

All this over the top excitement over these nice transfer-in possibilities makes me think it might be time to put the Loyalty cup on. I've already been wearing mine to handle the transfer out rumors.
For real. I’ve seen this movie before.

If 1/4 to 1/3 of the rumors come true, I’ll be happy. There will surely be other names we end up with on no one’s radar right now.

Count me in the group that still gets attached to rooting for the same guys to stay and develop, don't want to see Belo or Hawkins go and haven't completely adjusted to the portal and the way college basketball is changing.

That said, have we ever come a long way in the caliber of transfer-ins we are looking at compared to the days not so long ago of Jon Ekey, Ahmad Starks and Sam Maniscalo.

Sorry if posted but what would be the reason(s) behind Curbelo transferring, esp if he loves the coach and team?

You are indeed wrong. 2020-21 they decided it would be a free year before the season started. If it had been the prior year, you'd have seen talk about Feliz coming back, which would have honestly been awesome.
Thanks. Thought the lack of postseason opened that up, but maybe that was just spring sports that got the year back.
