Illinois did a caravan several years ago, Rockford stop at Forest Hills Country Club, I think. The guests were Mike Thomas, for sure, and Tim Beckman, I think. Maybe John Groce.. Quite a different era.

Didn't know where to put this.

Anyway, Illinois is doing something called 2022 Illini Tailgate Tour, visiting several cities across the state starting in May, I think.

I've registered for the Rockford stop in June to be hosted by Deon Thomas with featured guests Josh Whitman, Chester Frazier, Geoff Alexander.

Free admission, free food!

Just check out FightingIllini.com/IlliniTour for complete list of stops, hosts, guests, etc. Coaches Bielema and Underwood will also be part of the tour.
Do you have to click on registration to see the location? Im on a mobile device and all it says under the events is details to come.

Rarely speculate but I did hear from someone that Kofi won’t be returning. Would love them to be wrong

Please tell me this "I did hear from someone" was actually a random sh*tpost rumor on the facebook fan page... Not gonna let this ruin my Friday evening 🙃

I helped organize that event for the Rockford Area Illini Club and IFUND. That was Beckman‘s and Groce’s first year. Thomas was only there for an hour, and we found out immediately how cold, arrogant, unfriendly, and unapproachable he was. Groce didn’t show at all because he had just lost a new assistant he was trying to hire that day. Beckman didn’t come off as a doofus at first, but by the end of 2 1/2 hours, we were not impressed. I think that was the last time a caravan stopped in Rockford. We’ve had Josh come to an event right after he was hired, but I don’t think we’ve had anyone since. It will be awesome to have Josh, Deon, Chester, and Geoff visit. I hope we get a good turnout.

No, I don't think so. By details I think they mean the actual venue in a particular city or area. I was able to find out the tailgate stops and guests before I registered. I'm sorry, I'm extremely low-tech. Don't know mobile devices from shinola. Got me a tablet. f you want just send me a message about the actual stops. I'll be glad to respond with info. Some of the stops are Rockford, Springfield, Peoria, Quad Cities, Winnetka, Belleville maybe. Where are you?

I bet it will be a very good, if not a great turnout at each site. What is Rockford Area Illini Club all about? I'm reluctant to join any club that would have someone like me as a member (Groucho Marx).

You are most welcome. Hope you and your dad get to meet coach. I'm sure you will. Please tell us all about it.

Yes, I remember not being too thrilled about the Rockford caravan stop many moons ago. This time should be great. Whole different vibe. GO ILLINI!

Athletic SG that loves taking it the the hole (don’t we all). There’s a lot of video out there of him if you search. Very much an in-your-face intense competitor - a “dog”- like Rodgers.
Solid ball handler from what I’ve observed

I don't hear about Sencire as much as other incoming frosh. Can somebody tell me more about his game?
IMO Sencire will be the type of player who out of the gates doesn’t get as much tick as Rodgers, Clark or Epps. Similar to how Podz was the lowest on the freshman totem pole this year. With that said, Harris is a better player and has a much higher ceiling that Podz and if he is the type of young player we have on the bench waiting in the wings it shows our program is in good shape.

Probably needs to put on some weight and improve outside shot.
