The year he got denied a waver because he "wasn't within the mileage" of the rule to his grandpa their was a QB that transferred into Ohio State and had NO family in the area etc or any other plausible reason to get granted a waiver to play right away and yet he did because he was a QB. So if TDV does get his waiver just chalk it up to him being a QB and nothing more.

Wasn't there a hint of racist taunting at the OSU QB's previous school that factored into the transfer decision?

I like Juston Fields , think hes a great player and person, but allowing the attorney to incorporate that "racism" angle into his transfer request for a waiver for a no sit out year (recall that until two years ago, there was no portal and only in special situations were you allowed to transfer and not sit out) was weak. There was no mention of this "racism" by any other player on UGa's team. My disdain for everything NCAA runs deep. They have always screwed us.
Ford and Hightower had to sit out.

I'm pretty sure the racism had to do with the Georgia Baseball team. He was claiming that he was having issues with racism in the school in general not just the football program. Not agreeing or disagreeing just what I remember about the situation.

I believe this is Tommy DeVito's college football history, with 2017 (not shown) being a redshirt year at Syracuse. 2020 does not count obviously, due to the Covid exemption. Therefore, I can only assume that we're asking for an exception pertaining to his 2021 season, during which he played just 3 games. If he's all-in for another season, then I assume we need to wait on an NCAA decision, since a repeat of those 2022 stats is too enticing to pass up! ​

That to me was the straw that broke the camel's back as far as getting rid of the one-year sitout rule.

Wording plays a huge part in the ncaa decision process. It’s not like BB just emails them and asks for an extra year.

(1) Chase coming back would be great for the program. Not on an Ayo level because that isn't possible for football but it brings in a star at a position with some uncertainty.

(2) I would bet dollars to donuts that Chase coming back will not help his draft status. Being a Doak Walker finalist right now leaves zero room for improvement. Chase would need to pile up a 2k rushing season or a 60-catch season to possibly raise his profile. The risk of injuries, loss of performance, reduction of QB performance, etc. puts a lot more factors that can go wrong than the perfect sequence needed for him to improve his standing.

(3) NIL money eases that burden. If he can get high 6- or low 7-figure NIL check, he is essentially living that first year of professional life while still being in college.

It's not about the improvement in terms of stats. It's about getting legit Heisman name recognition and improving upon things the NFL is looking for. Pass protection and Receiving are two things he can get better at.

Not sure which thread this belongs in, but I've become a fan of Josh Pate the more I've watched him. Talks about the lack of stability, and how in his opinion, it needs to be addressed. I've had similar thoughts myself --that part of the reason there's so little loyalty is because it's a two-way street, and the teams/conferences haven't held up their end. 19 year olds aren't likely to be getting good information, and they hear the stories of the few guys that shoot up in value, so they're jumping right and left. I hadn't done the math on how affordable it would be, but with as much at stake now, it clearly could be workable to provide tiered stipends in the power conferences. Not sure about the Title IX implications --he doesn't talk about that.
