With Goode back, and the way Ty has been playing, it's possible RJ doesn't play for reasons completely unrelated to a suspension.Coach’s answer sounded like RJ will be in uniform, but he will still not be playing tomorrow
It was his first and extremely limited minutes all year against the nations number 2 defense.Goode looked kinda rough against Rutgers. I'd prefer Melendez still rotate in for now. We need him for end of game free throws.
RJ is 3 of his last 18 from the field... That's not, not rough...Goode looked kinda rough against Rutgers. I'd prefer Melendez still rotate in for now. We need him for end of game free throws.
Yes no doubt but he he has played well defensively and made his free throws. The three point shooting has been a huge stinker.RJ is 3 of his last 18 from the field... That's not, not rough...
I'd pound it into Dain early every game.I would love to see RJ to hit a few 3’s tomorrow. His driving game was not shabby either. Do you pound it in to Dain tomorrow early. They don’t have a big 5 man that can cover Dain so I assume they will collapse on him is when he kicks it out. Go Illini!!!
Agreed. I said this in the Rutgers game thread, but it's so frustrating when we are ice cold from three and are not passing it into Dain because he's actually a great passer! It's not like with Kofi where once you passed him the ball he was probably taking it to the hoop or turning it over. There is zero excuse for this team to take a contested three pointer (even if we WERE good at shooting!) before passing it to Dain.I'd pound it into Dain early every game.
What am I missing here? We only have 8 BIG wins?I am confident that we will look a LOT better than in our first meeting and that they won't look quite like the all stars they did in our first meeting ... beyond that, I'm nervous as hell and can't make a prediction! If we play like we did at Iowa, I think we win by 7 or so (up 10 after FTs but PSU hits a three at the buzzer, obviously). If we play like we did vs. Rutgers over the course of the game, I think it will be a nail biter, as I don't think we can count on a PSU scoring drought. I think it's imperative to avoid a slow start. Win this one, and we will have won 12 of 14 Big Ten games heading into a massive clash in Bloomington. JUST WIN, BABY!
I'd love for him to play meaningful minutes and not take any 3's.I would love to see RJ to hit a few 3’s tomorrow. His driving game was not shabby either. Do you pound it in to Dain tomorrow early. They don’t have a big 5 man that can cover Dain so I assume they will collapse on him is when he kicks it out. Go Illini!!!
What, no laurel?I don't know. I can, however, confirm that a high school varsity bowling coach gets a "thank you" and a hearty handshake (after paying for our own background check).
Superstars is a little over the top, dontcha think?Love this team. We have superstars in Mayer, TJS, Epps, Dain, Goode, Melendez, Ty, Harris. They play so well with each other. I expect a great game out of those guys!
This team is great I expect them to make it to elite 8!
No way man. Haven’t you been following the boards? These guys have been compared to Nick Anderson, Kenny Battle, Dennis Rodman, and a more athletic Larry Bird. If that’s not super star status; then I don’t know what is.Superstars is a little over the top, dontcha think?
No these guys are ready for the NBA! Love love love this teamSuperstars is a little over the top, dontcha think?
Don't want to break their spirit too much. Want them to win out after our game, to keep that loss a quad 2 loss, not a quad 3With Penn State having lost four straight, it would be nice to get off to a fast start to break their spirit as their tourney hopes are just about out the window.
