I am due no respect, but thanks! (and I still disagree :p )
without USC & UCLA , the Pac is indeed weaker than the B12 in football, and its not really close

Tbh, Miami Ohio and Miami Florida fit that bill. Although I know which one you’re talking about
Because only one belongs in the Big? 😆

I think everyone forgets just what the average student needs to do to get into the U thanks to the reputation the football team has developed and the fact that it's a warm weather school.

The biggest difference in partying in the Midwest vs. partying in South Beach is we have to take it indoors 8 months of the year.

Florida State and Miami are tied at 55 in US News and World Report rankings. Only 6 Big Tens schools are higher.
With all due respect, and remember I'm saying with all due respect, the US News and World Report rankings ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin getting it on. Neither of those schools are AAU and that's an automatic disqualifer for anyone that isn't Notre Dame.

I bet AAU wouldn’t matter nearly as much if they could add incremental $$ to payouts for all schools.

Ok, just to be clear, are the cows a positive feature for partying? If so, just what kind of parties did you go to? Asking for a friend.

BOOOO!!!!!!!

Scheduling is an interesting problem for conferences. I don't see how divisions help in the expanded playoff era. The SEC I think announced (or is considering) a 3-6-6 schedule, which is 3 protected rivals plus 6 games (you play the other 6 the following year). That sort of format seems like a good solution that does away with divisions. Unbalanced schedules are going to be a fact of life.

its starting to seem as if the PAC could really come apart in the next year or so, with a few schools leaving to join the B12 .
its all about football , and the B12 is in decent shape with the schools remaining and the ones coming in.
The PAC is simply in the wrong time zone to really interest the big networks.
Its crazy how things have gone.

The more I read about realignment the more impressed I am with the BigTen leadership. Delaney and then Warren really put the Big in an ideal spot.

I think the PAC implodes in the sense that it will be canibilized to the point of being a mid-major. The Big12 and ACC will be on equal-ish footings as a 2nd tier between the two premier conferences and everyone else.

My conjecture is that we will see at least one school defect the SEC for the BigTen.

The timing of all these deals means that the BigTen doesn't need to limit itself to the PAC remnants.

ESPN is dying. Parent company Disney is undergoing massive layoffs and having to negotiate board memeber seats to fend off activist investor attempts to force an ESPN spin-off. Balley Sports and its umbrella of regional sports networks is declaring bankruptcy.

Its obvious the legacy financials for sports networks aren't projecting into the streaming era, and sports networks are no longer meaningful enough to keep people from cord-cutting.

The SEC is riding a dying horse.

The Big monopolozing the traditional broadcast networks AND having their contract up for negotiation before the SEC's exclusivity deal ends with ESPN is brilliance. My guess is that at least one SEC school will be scared off by the ESPN downward projections and negotiate an exit to join to the BIG during the next negotiation. Book it.

Well, you can't leave us hanging like that. Miznoz? Arkansas? Vanderbilt? Texas? Alabama?

If we hold to the AAU requirement, then Vandy, Mizzou, Texas, and Florida would be in play.

I remember in 2010 when Nebraska joined the B1G, Mizzou thought that they would be joining within a few days/weeks, so they may get jumpy pretty quickly. Texas is Texas, they crave attention and cannot stand being out of the limelight. My bet would be Mizzou first, then Texas, then TBD.

I know that Mizzou really doesn't bring anything to the table, and I hate those SOBs. But I really think they belong in the Big Ten...
