So I just gotta throw this out here.. @Indy Illini Fan @illini0440 either of you hearing anything regarding BU leaving now for Texas or KY if Texas takes Calamari.

Got a buddy who is a big KY guy says he has heard the name mentioned in circles in Lexington just wondering

Brad is a name for every job … People want to win and Brad wins …

However, think it’s highly unlikely that he would get the UK job … Can say with certainty he isn’t a top 5 candidate for them …

Texas on the other hand … I’d keep a very, very close eye on …

Obviously the insiders know more than I do, but I will choose to believe for now that this is a premiere job; the potential is through the roof, and that's evidenced by Underwood taking us from the cellar to a #1 seed, BTT champs and what-should-have-been Big Ten regular season champs by his fourth year. Facilities, fan base, coverage, recruiting footprint, Big Ten TV money, history of success ... it's all there.

Whatever "better jobs" there are out there, the gap should be small enough that Whitman can leverage the combination of increased pay + the general hassle of relocating your family (with the first one obviously being more important!) to keep who we want. Is North Carolina a better job than Michigan State, Michigan, Indiana ,etc.? IMO, obviously yes. However, something tells me all three would keep their man if UNC came calling. We need to be able to do the same.

I believe BU when he has said that UI is his dream job and I hope he is speaking from the heart and I have no evidence to the contrary...........

This talk aboot BU maybe leaving has me astounded that it is even being discussed......But , as a human being resident of this sphere for 71 years , it seems the older I get , the less I can bank on being a truism and being guaranteed to happen.......The last 7 years of happening's here in the good ole USA still has my head spinning as far as what we are allowing criminals and traitors to get away with , SO FAR...........

The idylic (sp) days of growing up as a lad in Southern Illinois with no phone or small portable computer in my pocket was really a grand way of growing up , out in the sunshine playing sports all day long and riding my bike around McLeansboro with little regard for anything to happen badly to me has left me in a melancholy state of mind.......

BU leaving UI right now has my heart racing and my head spinning and my soul trembling......I'm too old to go back to the negative thoughts and performance's of the Illini post 2004-05.......

time for some meds and ridding these bad vibes that some are trying to lay down on me........

I say NEVERMORE.....................NEVERMORE.............................I really really do.....................

Texas makes a lot of sense for him, and it really terrifies me. Losing him would be a shocking kick to the gut, and it’s hard to imagine who we could get to replace him. Please Josh give him a blank check.

I wouldn't mind giving Chester a shot.
We are a high enough profile program that we shouldn't have to give  anyone a shot. We should be able to hire a proven winner. Some of that luster was clearly gone after the Weber years and with Thomas at the helm, but Whitman and Underwood have fixed that.

And it's ridiculous that anyone would want Underwood to leave the guy wins.

Yeah but he rarely wins at 11 o’clock in the morning. Also, he yells and it really scares me. ;)
