Okay,

1.) Not ideal…but you want him fired over
it?
2.) The original poster, presented not winning early games….specifically as a Brad Underwood coaching flaw/shortcoming. He even attached a chart
to drive home the point home. Hence,
my comment. The fact that it is a
I was trying to be facetious.

Did not see the chart.

That said, I have noticed a trend of losing early games over the years.

Why in the world is anyone thinking about hiring a new coach? Brad's not getting fired, the chances of him leaving for an SEC team are probably pretty low, and we've got 3+ weeks of important basketball yet to play
Amen! We're like a guy who's so terrified because another guy said our fiancé was hot that we have now downloaded a dating app and are preparing ourselves to be single. Confidence is SERIOUSLY lacking for as good of a spot as this program is in overall!

No we're like a message board that just talks about random stuff. Some tangible, some theoretical, some just off the damn wall.

It's kinda the point of a message board.

Well, it's all a fine line I suppose. I guess I shouldn't be putting words in anyone's mouth, that's fair ... but I think the conversation is disturbingly closer to "Who are we going to target in the somewhat likely event Brad leaves for Texas?" compared to "Who would you want to target in the unlikely event Brad ever left his stated dream job of Illinois?"

As you said, though, it's a message board. Carry on. :) I just choose to believe that when Brad said this was his dream job, he didn't include Texas Basketball in the "unless of course" category. ;):hailtotheorange:

No one should be terrified. I think Brad will be back. But schools are interested in him and he will listen to some.

This is tangible. Del Conte has reached out to Brad

As he should. And he should rightfully expect that the University of Illinois Athletic Department will adequately show him just how much we value him and just how aware we are of what a "catch" we have as head coach!

Really hope he stays, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him move on. Even though he's brought this program back to relevance, fans will want more. If no tourney runs in next couple years fans will have him on the hot seat. So he may want to move before that happens. Also, I think he could be looking for that fresh start.
Daddy Brad is here to stay.

Love BU, don't think he will leave, don't want him to leave, but speculation is fun.
I'm not pointing this at you, but I personally don't like speculation, especially in these days where random tweets and message board material get used by people who call themselves journalists. Once there's a story out there that "Illinois fans are hoping to see Sean Miller on the sidelines" it gets twisted up into all kinds of nonsense.

For reference, look at all the speculation and nonsense that went on when Ked Prince (I think it was Ked) broke a story that Skyy was entering the portal. It took days for the dust to settle, and even then a lot of people refused to believe what both the university and Skyy had said because the story was already out there.

Bill Self also has a couple of national championships ... Four final 4s ... 16 of his years at Kansas they have won the league ... 9 years they have won the Big 12 tourney ... His career record is 579-129 ... That's right around 82% ... And at Allen, he's 292-16 which is around 95% ...

Talking about one of the elite coaches to ever do it ... The tournament is more about the draw than anything else ... But what Self has done in terms of a career stacks up as one of the best of all time ... Pretty tough to point out many flaws with him ... But maybe that's just me ...
I mean, that’s the purpose of pointing out what I did to highlight even the best coaches can be critiqued. Wished he would’ve stayed at Illinois, but let’s not forget he was being criticized after being bounced twice in the first round, and the loser of the national championship vs Memphis was going to have their season vacated because both teams had ineligible players playing. Kansas had Darrel Arthur and Memphis had Derrick Rose. Winner gets swept under the rug and loser gets vacated.

Not saying this is the official list or that this list would be in order BUT if there was a list that Josh just might keep. My guess is these names would be on it:

1. Sean Miller
2. Eric Musselman
3. Greg McDermott
4. Dennis Gates
5. Chris Mack
I watched Greg at Iowa state. I was not impressed. He thrives in the big east but like the Big12, he’s just not a good fit for big10 play

What I learned today from Illinois Loyalty. Brad is a bad coach and he’ll finish the season on an 0-4 run, losing in the 1st round of the NIT. Then Texas will come in and out bid us for his talent, despite this impressive accomplishment, since their AD loves him.

I learned….we’re going to the NIT?
