If we are a discombobulated mess with one-and-done mercenaries a second time, a major re-think is needed.BU hater or troll come to mind.
Insider elite statusAnd better, how could one possible have the answer before the season starts?
And if we win a national championship, it's not. It's still April. BU deserves the benefit of the doubt for now. Let's cross that bridge if we get there. If we are a discombobulated mess with one-and-done mercenaries a second time, a major re-think is needed.
If all the rumored pieces fall into place, we should be a Top 10 team. If we have another year that resembles the past year, I'm in full agreement with you that a re-think is in order. If we are a discombobulated mess with one-and-done mercenaries a second time, a major re-think is needed.
You keep linking Boswell back to UIUC. I like it!Keep an eye on where Jaden Bradley ends up … Penny doesn’t have that one locked up and if he heads out to AZ … That’ll be an interesting fit with Boswell to say the least … Boswell does NOT want to play the 2 …
Care to expand for those of us who don't watch?Well if you watch any Bulls post game lives.. you know Phoenix is coming here.
Honestly, would love Boswell. While RayJ is more established, I thought Boswell showed well at the end, played for a high major and to me was their most poised guard, is very young, and is a local legend. Part of me would want Boswell just from standpoint of long-term impact. Don't know if that would be a deterrent though to TSJ/Coleman as he is not greatly experienced, but we have picked up Harmon, Domask, and Querrier with all 3 known as being grinders.Keep an eye on where Jaden Bradley ends up … Penny doesn’t have that one locked up and if he heads out to AZ … That’ll be an interesting fit with Boswell to say the least … Boswell does NOT want to play the 2 …
His dad was a decent Illinois player in the late 80’s who went on to work Bull’s postgames. \s Gill senior is still a big Illinois fan and will occasionally wear an Illini jersey on the air if the BBall team gets a news worthy win.Care to expand for those of us who don't watch?
His Dad was "decent"? Try, "His Dad was among the best Illini players ever"His dad was a decent Illinois player in the late 80’s who went on to work Bull’s postgames. \s Gill senior is still a big Illinois fan and will occasionally wear an Illini jersey on the air if the BBall team gets a news worthy win.
Your sarcasm (/s) meter is busted. His Dad was "decent"? Try, "His Dad was among the best Illini players ever"
It's in the shop. Sorry.Your sarcasm (/s) meter is busted.
What’s BUs excuse if the season doesn’t work out? Couldn’t gel?
And what's yours going to be if excuse if it does?
No worries!
I think if there is a possibility that Boswell becomes available and shows interest in coming to ILL, then Brad would do his due diligence and green light the move with TJ and Coleman, and they don't then sorry Boswell, find another team.Boswell may be the new white whale of recruiting. AMcDAA level talent with 3 years remaining who will have burned his transfer freebie. But Coleman hasn’t been subtle that he wants to play with an experienced PG next year.
So if you take Boswell over RayJ, you potentially get a great PG for 3 years but it may very well cost you Coleman and maybe even TJ, since alot folks are drawing a straight line between this years chaos and immature, inexperienced PG play.
Of course Coleman and TJ could still leave regardless of PG decision. But Boswell could jump to the pros after a year and it’s not impossible that he transfers again. It’s a gamble either way. Maybe I’ve just got a bad taste in my mouth after last year but RayJ seems like the safer play and our transfers fully suggest we are in win now mode, so to me it’s paramount we make the roster as attractive as possible for Coleman and TJ to come back. I would go with with RayJ but it’s an interesting debate and one I think will be recurring in this era.
Totally agree. We have done more in the last 3-4 years than the previous 10 easy. Why is that a question you would ask?
He wouldn't come here if we get RayJ though, would he?Keep an eye on where Jaden Bradley ends up … Penny doesn’t have that one locked up and if he heads out to AZ … That’ll be an interesting fit with Boswell to say the least … Boswell does NOT want to play the 2 …
Was thinking the same thing - Kendall Gill was electric. His Dad was "decent"? Try, "His Dad was among the best Illini players ever"
How many times we gonna pass the ball?It also isn't a BU methodology. He likes the ball moving, everyone touching it, making the extra pass to make a good shot a great shot. That wasn't happening.....at all.
I'd expect him to start. I do not feel Oregon's system was a good fit for him. He played the 3 a lot but is more if a 4 not as good as but kind of like EJ Liddell. QG struggled guarding quicker wings but did well vs guy like Wahl of Wisconsin. I view our line up like Piper does after listening to last nights podcast.I know those are highlights, but I like how much strength and aggression he displays. Good rebounder and a physical player. His efficiency isn't great (58% FT, 42% FG, 35% 3P), and I'm not sure he was considered a plus defender. Is he expected to be a starter?
