Starters:
PG
TJ
Domask
QG
Hawkins

Bench:
Dain
Harmon
Ty
Goode
Hansberry
Buck

There will only be 3 out of this group who get significant tick … Earn your minutes … There will be competition …

Guys who won’t play meaningful minutes:
DGL
Moretti
I would love to see Ty take Domask’s minutes, as that would mean that he’s continued to improve, and would make our starting five fearsome.

I don't care if Brad has to pull a Bobby Knight and send out 2 freshman and some walkons to start the 2nd half.
If we have players who don't run the sets the coach calls they should be planted on the bench.

I like the Dansk and Harman transfers. Quincy scares me since this will be his 3rd school. However maybe he has learned. It is interesting we are adding three players who have 4 years college experience.

JMO- I think TSJ and Coleman are gone.
Who dat?

The DGL rumblings are disappointing. I'm not sure why we have a scholarship locked up for a guy who now we have "insiders" throwing shade at. We knew what we were getting into. If we don't like it now, why did we even go here?

Coleman just doesn’t want to be stuck at the 5 … Obviously if we go against Purdue … Dain will be in … QG on the bench … But against some teams … Coleman can play the 5 …

But NBA teams want Coleman as a stretch 5 … So he needs to showcase that some and shoot better to improve his draft stock …
I’m with you — said from day 1 last year Coleman at the 5 with Dain as a 6th man is our best look.

Bet my beach house we won’t be ranked preseason. We are no longer the media darling after this past season…. Not saying they aren’t on that level or will be… just my assumption..

If Hawkins and Shannon come back and we legitimately land someone like RayJ, we will likely be at the back end of the top 25 to start the season.

Coleman is a talented player but I just hope he can hit his three pointers. That's his ticket to and thrive in NBA. He can't blame freshmen for all those chucking balls.
This..... CH was a big part of the year 22-23 issues with his head scratching, rally crushing TO's and above mentioned errant scud missiles . His physical talent is not in question. Doesn't matter who BU brings in as a PG if Coleman can't get his act together.

Really hope he stays and becomes the leader he claims to be. I really, really do!!

Dain at the 5 and actually playing help defense without being completely lost and fouling is our best look.
I guess I just like that more situationally (hence the sixth man role). I prefer a 5-out look where any of our guys on the floor can get a rebound and go, be a threat from deep and passably guard 1-5.

CH has a lot of value simply for his defense. If he can hit his shots and not being central on the offense end, I am not super worried about the head scratching TO's. Supposedly somebody else will take care of the ball distribution this coming year.

Add Hawkins, Shannon and Dennis to our 2024 rostercast on Torvik and we move from 49th (currently) to 16th.

Granted, I don’t know how much weight Zacharie Perrin is still carrying 😉

DGL is a lotto ticket. Lots of kids have baggage. Underwood didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday. I would think that the rules of engagement are gonna be laid out very clearly. Highly doubt he's gonna put up with interference/shenanigans. If DGL works hard in his development year and is a team guy, taking him could very well be a major coup.

Sorry, that doesn't cut it for me. You have a chance to bring in either a backup vet or, my preference, a young guy willing to learn and perhaps even take the keys next year. That's not "oh well" that's a missed opportunity.
Who can predict what an 18 yr old is gonna be thinking when he is a 19 yr old? Obviously the staff saw some things they like and took a chance. I doubt you get two veteran PGs to transfer in this so this what we have. You won’t play 13 anyway.

You would hope DGL and Moretti are both young guys willing to learn and perhaps even take the keys next year. If they aren't, this isn't the place for them.
Unless you are involved in the program, whether or not it "cuts it" for you is irrelevant.
I think BU learned his lesson last season about making promises to prep players.
IMO, if you aren't willing to fight for and earn your minutes, you can kick rocks. This program should be in the mix for conference titles and more every year. A bigger missed opportunity would be playing lesser players to keep them happy in hopes they might stick around, and might get better, at the expense of an opportunity to hang banners.

But he could for poor spacing, ill timed passes, holding the ball to long in the shot clock, not cutting, not pushing the pace, not going to the correct lane on breaks... I mean there was a lot and then to try an win games, the winners tried to win like the pick up game they basically ended up playing.

This is where I want to see CH catching the basketball more frequently. He scores 14+/game this year if he's willing to do it. He reverse pivots, keeps TJ's guy honest (because he now sees him), backs his defender to the hoop with ease on this possession. Meyer should have done a ton more of this too. I have no idea if these guys are encouraged to catch the ball at the arc more frequently based on pro evals; if so that's fine but the problem is they got lazy and drifted to like 5 feet beyond the line way too much. That's why Coleman was taking shots from the logo. He wasn't fighting to catch it any closer. The team as a whole did well to do this on the first initiation of the offense, but that principle was lost after 15 seconds. IMO, that's one area we really missed a point guard - dictating spacing. The other was dictating tempo. As much as I love TJ, he didn't quite feel when it was/wasn't time to take an early jumper or attack the hoop without anyone else touching the ball.
