Sorry, that doesn't cut it for me. You have a chance to bring in either a backup vet or, my preference, a young guy willing to learn and perhaps even take the keys next year. That's not "oh well" that's a missed opportunity.
You would hope DGL and Moretti are both young guys willing to learn and perhaps even take the keys next year. If they aren't, this isn't the place for them.
Unless you are involved in the program, whether or not it "cuts it" for you is irrelevant.
I think BU learned his lesson last season about making promises to prep players.
IMO, if you aren't willing to fight for and earn your minutes, you can kick rocks. This program should be in the mix for conference titles and more every year. A bigger missed opportunity would be playing lesser players to keep them happy in hopes they
might stick around, and
might get better, at the expense of an opportunity to hang banners.
