Think the main frustration for me is I don't see growth in anyone's game from last year except for the constant being Bostic.
Those shooting numbers I posted about Cook, same with Bryant and McKenzie. Pretty sure Bryant shot just under 50% from 3 in Nov-Dec last year, than 35% area rest of year. Shooting just over that now. McKenzie shot 33% from 3 in Nov-Dec than shot 6% (1/16) rest of season. She has stayed away from it this season and shot I believe 7 total 3's.
Shoup-Hill shot over 65% of her shots last year from 3PT range and made 40%. This year she has shot over 60% of her shots from 3PT range and made under 30%.
If average fan realizes they have no post game and struggle with outside shooting than opponents should know how to scout them fairly easy. That being said effort keeps us in a lot of games we shouldn't be in.
I am amazed at Bostic, her effort, work at rebounding goes almost unnoticed other than Illinois media. Against #18 Ohio State she gets 18 rebounds the other night. That is just hard work, great effort against bigger players from Ohio State. McKenzie is always full speed ahead and great effort also. Might not show on the stat sheet, but it is always happening on the floor.
Your stats spell out what players, coaches on the other teams see and this year make the effort to stop us. 3 point shooting carried us last year. Killing us this year.
Hobby had a bad game against Ohio State or else we might have won that game. I still like her and glad we have her, she has played well in the tough B1G games this year.
I am just disappointed in the poor shooting compared to last year. Huge number of turn overs, lazy, poor choice turn overs by experienced guards. Game management in close games is frustrating also. NOT what I expected for WBB this year.
