Do we have any open scholarships? And why wouldn't players transfer if they never get in any games?

Going only be what we know today. Two players have exhausted eligibility in Peebles and Hobby and two recruits are coming in Berry Wallace and Hayven Smith.

Bostic(will be back), Bryant and Cook will have to decide about using that extra year of eligibility due to Covid. Majority of the time we have player(s) transfer out/in during the offseason. I look for some movement to take place.

Another thing I wonder is if Makira Cook ever got back to full speed. Her stats are down across the board, except turnovers which are up. She also just looks like a different, less threatening offensive player. Not having her be an alpha once she got on the floor has been a noticeable difference.

Camille Jackson and Adalia are the strongest players on the team. When you watch Camille and Sam they are always very supportive of their teammates from the bench.

And yes I would like to see Shay and Cori start to see some time. Gretchen is starting to get a feel for the pace and physical nature of B1G Ten. You need court time for that to happen.

She is a playmaker but her shooting stats have been down for awhile. Cupcake non-conference schedule last season and once we started playing Big Ten competition in January night in/night out the shooting stats went down for Cook. More competitive schedule from the start this season and things carried over for Cook and other starters. Below are the shooting stats for Cook only.

Last season November-December (easier schedule)

FG 49.1%

3PT 46.8%

Last season January-March

FG 37.4%

3PT 28.3%

Current season (updated through last game)

FG 38%

3PT 28.8%

Very interesting! We are playing against some very good guards every game in the B1G. At her size you have to be special to shoot, play D against them. Or break the press as we have noticed, especially with two small guards in at the same time. I love Cook but when your shooting is off, yet number of shots remains high, plus turnovers higher I can't see why she still gets so many minutes. We have lost too many close games this year and just one or two plays or coaching decisions could have changed all of those games. I 100% think we have the right coach. However I also think a few things need to change. Cooks number of shots, playing time would be one I would slightly change, IF I was coach. I am not the coach, but then I have not lost 8 very winnable games this year.

To be fair you haven't won any winnable games either 🤷🏻‍♀️

Think the main frustration for me is I don't see growth in anyone's game from last year except for the constant being Bostic.

Those shooting numbers I posted about Cook, same with Bryant and McKenzie. Pretty sure Bryant shot just under 50% from 3 in Nov-Dec last year, than 35% area rest of year. Shooting just over that now. McKenzie shot 33% from 3 in Nov-Dec than shot 6% (1/16) rest of season. She has stayed away from it this season and shot I believe 7 total 3's.

Shoup-Hill shot over 65% of her shots last year from 3PT range and made 40%. This year she has shot over 60% of her shots from 3PT range and made under 30%.

If average fan realizes they have no post game and struggle with outside shooting than opponents should know how to scout them fairly easy. That being said effort keeps us in a lot of games we shouldn't be in.

I am amazed at Bostic, her effort, work at rebounding goes almost unnoticed other than Illinois media. Against #18 Ohio State she gets 18 rebounds the other night. That is just hard work, great effort against bigger players from Ohio State. McKenzie is always full speed ahead and great effort also. Might not show on the stat sheet, but it is always happening on the floor.

Your stats spell out what players, coaches on the other teams see and this year make the effort to stop us. 3 point shooting carried us last year. Killing us this year.

Hobby had a bad game against Ohio State or else we might have won that game. I still like her and glad we have her, she has played well in the tough B1G games this year.

I am just disappointed in the poor shooting compared to last year. Huge number of turn overs, lazy, poor choice turn overs by experienced guards. Game management in close games is frustrating also. NOT what I expected for WBB this year.

ughh for last couple minutes. MN on 9-0 run, more TOs. MN in bonus and 0 fouls?

Some mind boggling turnovers but fun to watch. It's been a back and forth game so far. Need to get Bryant going

Yes awful turnovers again! As Battle pointed out limited fouls for Minn. Only 3 for the whole half. At least the play by play lady knew we needed to get our guards going and get more help off the bench.

Bostic goes off with two fouls and Minn does I think 14-0 run and we have 8 turnovers in first half. Lucky we didn't have more.

Missing a ton of shots at the rim today. Gotta make those - especially the bigs. The guards are driving into traffic and struggling to convert. Just out of sync
