I mean he’s just never been a shooter at any level. Shooting threes in practice is one thing, but in game I just don’t see it. I’d love if he proved me wrong tho!!

I get that for sure...and I'm definitely posting a hypothetical scenario for fun discussion!

For reference...Sr. Trent Frazier was 32% from 3.

So now I want to redo my hypothetical to that since it's even more realistic.

Why are the coaches having him practice the three point shot if he's simply unable to develop it?

Pretty sure we saw the same video and got the same report prior to last year. It got so bad during the season that he didn't even bother looking at the rim from more than 10 feet. That mentality transitioning into a 35% shooter is beyond unlikely, which means is minimally possible.

Orange plan is a no-brainer, especially if you are somewhat local. I just wish there were going to be 2 games in December on one of them so I can plan my Christmas trip around them.....

I agree that the donors come first at the moment. I'm questioning whether they should come before the students for two reasons:

1) In theory this is the student sports team by/for the students.
2) Those students are the future donors. How much will someone who couldn't get tickets as a student care about the team in the future (or now)? Will this significantly impact future donations?

I'm become a lifelong fan. Would it have happened if I couldn't get the cheap tickets as a student? Probably not. (No way could I afford public admission prices as a student.)
I get where you are coming from but there were way to many games last year when these students who bought cheap season tickets were no shows. This leaves a ton of empty seats which was a bad look for the university to have so many empty seats. If you are going to buy the ticket then show up or let someone who will show up have it

Are students worse than the public about showing? Are they worse about giving tickets away? (I have no idea.)

My most common source of tickets in college was the "I can't use this ticket, anyone want it" ticket (I was poor). I also knew a bunch of public season ticket holders who routinely skipped the cupcake games. They bought the season tickets as a way of ensuring a seat at the games they actually wanted to attend.

I'm in love with what we have cooking now, but I miss Frank Williams so much.
Even over 20 years later, I’ll still say the answer to the question of “Who is the most talented Illini player you’ve ever watched?” is still Frank Williams.

Granted, I was born in the mid 1970s, so I don’t really remember Eddie Johnson or Derek Harper. And TSJ and Deron Williams might have had more accolades and team success. But I’ll still say Frank is the most naturally gifted player I’ve ever seen wear an Illini uniform.

I follow football more than hoops. How are Indiana and Purdue expected to be this season? Is Purdue getting a recruiting bump from last season that shows? Is Indiana still flailing?

I always thought he was the most clutch player I've seen. First Illinois player that if we had the ball in his hands last I knew we were winning. Ayo brought that as well. Harper and Johnson were also little before my time

Derek Harper played with so much confidence and poise consistently over his Illini career....
So did so many others in an Illini uniform , but HRF was truly special with an innate ability to make seemingly impossible plays possible.....I wish he had had a longer and more successful NBA career but while at UI there was no one else that I wanted making a play with the game on the line for an Illini win....there really really wasn't....

Don't forget Nick Anderson . . . And . . . And . . . And . . . From 1980 to today there have been so many greats. Frank was definitely one with greatness in him.

Frankie was my 1st ever "favorite player". I sort of kind of watched Illini basketball when Kiwane was playing, and I kind of remember Cory Bradford as a freshman making 3's in every game, but that 1999-2000 season, which was Frank's freshman year, I was all in, and it cemented me as an Illini for life. That following year, Frank was a stud, and he'll always be my favorite Illini ever. Then I was spoiled with the riches of Deron and Dee following that...

Frank in the NBA... he was starting to roll with the Knicks, and was going to start just before Isiah Thomas traded for Marbury....that was the downfall, and a quick exit from the NBA. Shame.

Woof 11am seriously smh
Wonder if it has to do with trying to take advantage of the what one would expect should be a very large crowd in town for Saturday’s Oklahoma football game. Earlier start time could entice some fans to hang around for game rather than hit the road early.

Personally I felt he he never got a fair shake in the league. He played well when he played. Timing and opportunity is so much of it.
