Lol, I don't know why I put an "s" on Sox. Please disregard :)

I agree that this looks like a Mo trade for sure. I was hoping for a bigger splash, but if he can help us, I'm all for it.

Ouch. Diaz leaves the game after getting hit on the hand, then we lose it in the 9th on a bad defensive play.

Love the Duke move as we gave up from a position were stocked at and got a reliable arm.

For today's game on that last play I'm not sure what Hazelbaker and Pham were doing. Ball should have been caught.

These next 2 weeks should pretty much decide if we will be fighting for the division or wild card IMO.

We have 3 series against the Reds and Braves before playing the Cubbies in Chicago. Really need to take advantage of this easy stretch big time. Like going 8-1 or 7-2.

The Cubs play the Marlins and Angels at home and the A's away before the big series. While not too difficult, it's considerably tougher than our schedule.

So hopefully we are only 4 or 5 games out by the time we play the Cubs. Win that series and we are only 3 or 4 games out. That leaves the divison wide open since there are still 2 Cubs vs Cards series to be played in September. One in St. Louis and one in Chicago

I met him here in Colorado Springs for the last game memphis played here and he seemed like a cool guy to me. From what I read he doesn't have the power they thought would develop, but I love guys who use their speed to get on and create runs, like the 80s cardinals teams. I thought I read somewhere that his arm wasn't the best but I can't remember for sure. Hope that helps some.

Good to great defender and base runner, decent bat, and bad power. He's a typical 3/4 OF with a team needing OFers. He was just blocked here. Good luck to him.

Diaz has a hairline fracture in his thumb. :tsk:

Expected to miss "significant time" with the injury: http://www.stltoday.com/sports/base...tent=F9EAA91236962CD453F6CC587E8BA41779510BF9

Peralta expected to take over the shortstop position when returning from the DL tomorrow night. Moss expected to return tomorrow night too. Carpenter to play 2B and 3B during his rehab assignment at AA Springfield this week. He could possibly return as early as Friday when the team returns home.

This from mlbtraderumors.com pretty much echoes what others on here have already said about Tilson:
Tilson, meanwhile, ranked 10th among Cardinals prospects on Baseball America’s midseason update of the organization’s top prospects and 12th on MLB.com’s version of the Cards’ top 30. BA writes that he has some of the best speed in the organization and strong contact skills but bottom-of-the-scale power. MLB.com agrees, noting that he’s selective at the plate, can bunt for hits and is capable of hitting to all fields but lacks pop. Tilson has the speed and range to play center field, and both reports indicate that he can be at least a fourth outfielder in the Majors, if not an everyday player whose game is geared toward speed, contact and defense.

Seems like the consensus opinion. I was trying to gauge if STL fans were lamenting his departure. That's usually as good an indicator as any regarding a prospects potential. Sounds like a good player who was just blocked in the Cards' system. In other words, hooray.

Thanks y'all

Was Pham's HR finally the 11th pinch hit HR of the year? They got 10 real quick and I think that was finally 11.
