Announcers just said Leake is 80 percent some sort of fastball at 89-91. That's batting practice stuff for the Cubs in the first inning.
Piscotty comes through!
Cards end up splitting with the Cubs, which is about the most I had expected. Too bad, though, that they gave away that first game. On to Houston!
We need to right our interleague record and really take advantage of Giancarlo going down in Miami. Hate to see guys go down, but if it breaks our way, I won't apologize.
I agree. Just think if it were the cubs who had comeback, there would be at least 4 different articles on ESPN by jesse rogers talking about how great of a manager maddon is or what their pitchers are eating in between innings.I know this is silly but when i went to ESPN this morning, there was almost nothing about the game last night. I would think with sunday night baseball being on ESPN that they would put something up on the home page at least saying the Cards won in an exciting comeback fashion. Generally we are not well liked at ESPN, i get that. But it was good baseball. oh well.

I haven't watched ESPN sportscenter in a long time (used to be must see TV for me). But to be fair, the Olympics are a pretty big deal right now. Were they covering other baseball games, besides the Yanks and Red Sox?
With Lance Lynn having a successful rehab outing today, it'd be interesting to see what kind of bullpen we could have in September for the stretch run. Oh, Siegrist, Lynn, Reyes, and Rosenthal could be a great bullpen. I know a lot depends on whether Rosie can throw strikes (which i think control will be better with a healthy forearm).
The injuries again this season are unreal
Lynn
Molina
Peralta
Moss
Adams
Holliday
Diaz
Carpenter
Wacha
Maness
Siegrist
Rosenthal
Pham
Pena
Tejada
I'm probably missing someone
2 years in a row... unfortunately I don't think we're pulling 100 wins out of our hat this time, lol
The reversal of the safe at second call was beyond ridiculous. Still, Wong's failure to cover the bag was just another example of how garbled his mind gets.
I don't think Wong will ever be solid.
I saw footage later that showed replay guys got it right. Hats off to them!
So what happened? Was there a different angle that showed he wasn't on the bag yet, or maybe he popped off the bag after initially touching the bag? Just curious, because the TV replays looked obviously safe to the entire world.
In one of the FSMW replays it appeared as though Kolten's first tag brushed the toe before the heel hit the base. That tag came off and the tag was reapplied after the runner was safely on. I only saw it once so ??
That's what I saw. Koltens foot touched first, albeit very close. I think they got it right. The tv guys were mostly looking at the tag applied by his glove, not his foot.
