Peralta is starting again today and better yet, he's batting cleanup. Matheny really is just terrible.

He's only reached base all 4 times so far today.:D

Hopefully this gets him going.

Reyes has really impressed with his ability to work out of jams. He did it today and he did it in his last start against SF. That will be important when he is hopefully starting a few games in October.

What a great lineup we have tonight and a wonderful start by Jaime. I hope Weaver is ready to relieve him tonight. Or well I guess we could just watch Jerome tonight. It'll probably be a blowout.

Just seems like the guys don't want it and Matheny continues to put the wrong lineups out there.

Unfortunately, this "they aren't trying" attitude is always brought up by fans of any underperforming team. I just don't buy it. This team is what it is. Bad defense, bad base running, rely on home runs, and unreliable pitching.

It's obvious we don't have a 5th starter right now. Nothing Matheny could really do tonight. Marco Gonzalez or Tyler Lyons would be really valuable right now. Injuries suck. Luckily, in the playoffs we don't need 5 pitchers. Just find a way to get in and hope the bats catch on fire.

I was at the game. Left at 14-2. Just ugly. The beer was good though.

The debate was a blowout as well.

I think you would say that regardless of who you were voting for (no, im not the least bit interested in knowing.) At least that's what it seemed like from listening to the radio today.

Nice to bounce back tonight. I have tickets to tomorrow night, hopefully I'm able to make it, but my record in games this year is pretty bad, I think ive only been to 1 victory all season.

Yeah, I was at last night's game and it was a needed win. The grand slam from Diaz was a big moment.

I must be your polar opposite because I'm 4-1 in my trips to Busch.

There were plenty of empty seats with an announced crowd of just over 34,000 (the first time under 40k in 3 years). I just have this sense that a sizeable % of Cards fans have lost hope and are resigned to believing that the team won't make the playoffs.

I haven't given up . . . yet.

It's not so much that they may not make the playoffs as much as it is the terrible play. Errors, strikeouts, baserunning, and starting pitching have all been bad

Yep. The awful home field record hasn't helped, either.

Agree about the poor play. Even IF they make the post-season, they look like a one-and-done team in the WC game.

The opposing starter (most likely Syndergaard or Bumgarner) will probably throw a complete game shutout and the Cardinal starter will give up a crooked number in one of the first three innings. I also predict 9 K's for our hitters and 2 E's from our defense. :(

I'm always willing to be pleasantly surprised though.

What a bizarre ending tonight. Looks like we may escape with a win on a technicality because the reds didn't notify intent to challenge in time, but wouldn't be surprised to see them have to make this up later either. Who knows what the league may decide.

Is that even possible?

I just wish these clowns on MLB Network would shut up and go to the game they are supposed to be showing.

The Reds manager crying because he couldn't here the phone ring. Why wasn't he on the phone to begin with? Why isn't he on the field immediately at the end questioning the call?
