Solid hire IMO
Solid hire IMO
I think that's a great hire. I would have been happy with him at Illinois (though it was unlikely we would hire an assistant with no HC experience). He will definitely try to fight us for Chicago recruits.
He's been the HC at Cleveland State for 3 years.I think that's a great hire. I would have been happy with him at Illinois (though it was unlikely we would hire an assistant with no HC experience). He will definitely try to fight us for Chicago recruits.
well we're not hiring him now. We didn't hire him when we got Underwood because he was only assistant. I'm saying, I would have been happy with Gates at that time, but he was an unlikely choice. He's been the HC at Cleveland State for 3 years.
It's more truthful. How true......All the new coaches should make a public announcement.." OK, I"ll take the job until something a little better opens up."
So already discussedIs this something we should be talking about?
"A majority of the K-State nation wants former Kansas State player and assistant coach — and native of McPherson, Kansas — Brad Underwood to come home as the new coach. There is plenty of talk in fan circles, and more specifically in big donor circles, that a deal is basically done as soon as Underwood’s Illinois team is finished playing in this NCAA Tournament."
From Fitz: Gene Taylor may soon need to show his hand
The start of next week could prove to be a pivotal moment in Kansas State basketball history. Just 10 days after launching the search for a new basketball coach, K-State247sports.com
Hopefully he bounces to Florida State as soon as Hamilton retires.I think that's a great hire. I would have been happy with him at Illinois (though it was unlikely we would hire an assistant with no HC experience). He will definitely try to fight us for Chicago recruits.
He better win quickly, because Hamilton is 73 years oldHopefully he bounces to Florida State as soon as Hamilton retires.
I don't like this hire primarily because it might work out well for them.
You may well be right, but isn't also what we thought when they hired Clownzo?I don't like this hire primarily because it might work out well for them.
He had some big red flags and not everyone thought that would work. You may well be right, but isn't also what we thought when they hired Clownzo?
Well, not everyone thinks the sky is blue but I think the consensus at the time was that we would have liked to have him as our coach. He had some big red flags and not everyone thought that would work.
I definitely don't remember there being a consensus about everyone wanting CM as our next coach. There definitely were some, but a lot of us were skeptical bc of his frequent sudden departures from his previous jobs that seemed to be going downhill as he left town. The thing I remember is that people were mad that it was rumored that he "chose Mizzou over us" which I think was based on some debatable info.Well, not everyone thinks the sky is blue but I think the consensus at the time was that we would have liked to have him as our coach.
OK, let's agree to disagree on this one.I definitely don't remember there being a consensus about everyone wanting CM as our next coach. That was far from a consensus. That was a vocal minority. Many of us thought the fact that he kept bolting as the ship started to sink after 4ish years was a red flag.Well, not everyone thinks the sky is blue but I think the consensus at the time was that we would have liked to have him as our coach.
Correct. Most on here wanted a proven winner with head coaching pedigree with strong X's and O's background. Most everyone here saw Clownzo for who he is, aka a fly by night smooth talker who could get some good players but can't coach his way out of a paper bag. That was far from a consensus. That was a vocal minority. Many of us thought the fact that he kept bolting as the ship started to sink after 4ish years was a red flag.
Sean Miller back to Xavier
But will he have the "resources" that he had at Az?He is going to be a problem on the recruiting trail ... Xavier is behind him 10,000%
How can there be no show cause after the tape? But will he have the "resources" that he had at Az?
Because $$$.How can there be no show cause after the tape?
Hope he cashes in. He deserves it.Shaheen Holloway (St Peter's coach) will likely get some looks by ADs....he has impressed in the Tourney.
