So where does Dan Hurley rank among the coaches you would want going forward the next 10-15 years?

Could be one of the all time greats given his lifelong exposure to the game. When your dad is Bob Hurley Sr, it’s inevitable

They are also a number 3 or better seed every year. This Gonzaga team would finish in tie for fifth in the big ten.
They got very little respect from the committee for many years and it became totally unfair to the top seeds to get stuck with Gonzaga as a lower seed near them. Then and now they’ve lived up to the seeds they’ve gotten and then some for the most part. Few has done an unbelievable job, it’s impossible to imagine that happening again at a comparable program.

Prior to tonight, Gonzaga's most lopsided loss in the tournament was 24 points. Lost to 3rd seeded Maryland 87-63 in the first round in 1995.

Was that just the biggest beat down in an Elite Eight game ever? Felt like it.

Gonzaga has laid an egg a couple times with higher seeds. It's not to say they're not a legit top program but I think both of you are right to some degree. I think they benefit from being in a weaker conference that allows then to pile up wins and get a higher seed than they may achieve at a power 5 (+1) conference that allows less margin of error for off night performances. This year was probably one of those years. The seasons where they made final four runs illustrate the contrary and that they're a legit national power that can compete with anyone. The hard part for the committee is discerning each year whether or not they're a big fish in a small pond or a shark eating whatever is in front of them.

The haters are crazy. Take a deep breath.
If I'm being objective they have been phenomenal and deserve respect... But I'm not gonna be and say they are Charmin soft and benefit from playing cupcakes. 🙂

How have they won with Hurley? That guy has lost in the first round the last two years… Obviously, he can’t coach. 🤣
This year he has called BU for half time advice....hence they have outscored opponents in 2d half a total of 70+ points in this tourney. It's all because of calls to BU at halftime that Danny implemented....brilliant coach he is..

Certain of UConn’s players remind me of our players with more experience. Sanogo- Dain, Jackson- Ty, Newton- Epps.
Just wish we had one for Clingan and Jordan Hawkins.

I think Gonzaga has seen teams make a jump to a tougher league and either eventually or almost instantly regret it. Wichita State leaving the MVC for the American comes to mind, as does Temple leaving the A10 for the American.
Gonzaga can have a year that is a little bit down and still give themselves a legitimate shot to win the league and the autobid. There is something to be said to the recruiting pitch that goes with that. Also, the WCC is pretty good at the top. I know BYU is leaving for the Big 12, but St. Mary's has been a legitimate contender for years. They have been a 5 seed for 2 tournaments in a row. Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount are both dangerous teams that are on the build too. It's VERY WEAK at the bottom, but the league as a whole is not a total dumpster fire.
