More solid than who Indiana is targeting....

Indiana OC Kevin Johns is really really close with Garrick McGee. I'm not sure how he fits on this staff; however, McGee would love to have him.

Interesting but....Illinois of all schools would have to act with extreme diligence in hiring anyone from that staff.

Apparently Wilson was fired because of "multiple issues regarding player treatment" and "repeated clashes with administration":

A former Indiana player's father told ESPN on Thursday that his son suffered a concussion in practice shortly before the 2015 season and was rushed back to workouts, causing his symptoms to intensify.

"He was out about a week and they started a normal concussion regiment, in which he was allowed to work out for about 20 minutes and gradually increase it," the former player's father said. "But after he worked out for 20 minutes, they had him run about 6 miles. After that, my son was feeling fine. But when he went home, he started throwing up and his symptoms went haywire."

Wilson had a 26-47 record in six seasons at Indiana, including a 6-6 mark this season.

Beckman-esque behavior there.

A quick image search on google shows Kevin Wilson often wearing a visor, much like our beloved lasagna lover Tim. Is this a freaky coincidence or is there a vast conspiracy against those choosing the visor vestment???

Well this is interesting as you now have IU and PU both in the market. I guess PU is the better job, but not by much. Funny a school that tolerated Bob Knight forever canning Wilson for player abuse. I think IU falls completely off the map unless they hire a complete home run. Seems Wilson made them about as good as they were ever going to be.

I have yet to met a man I trust who wears a visor. Seriously.

Indiana did a great job of not saying "player abuse" during that press conference. I really wonder what the "philosophical differences" and "differences in leadership styles" is all about though...lol

Wait, isn't their defense like terrabad?? And they want HIM to be the HC? IU fans better hope he hires some dynamite recruiters/coordinators.

I mean, forget about that, this tiny carousel is such an enormous opportunity for a program like Indiana.

Jeff Brohm would be a grand slam for them, the kind of candidate they normally wouldn't be able to get.

They took a step onto the carousel and voluntarily face planted off of it.

Their defense was actually good this year. He's only been there 1 year and it was a complete turnaround from what their usually terribad perception was. IU fans have actually taken quite a liking to him for that. He's like their Vic Koenning, except without that deep of a resume.

Overall, agreed, terrible hire for all the reasons mentioned. At least reach out to Jeff Brohm since he's in your backyard. Make this hire 3 weeks from now or even a week from now if you must.

On top of that, fair or not, why would you hire the coordinator of head coach mired in scandal. What kind of idiot school would do that...

I'm assuming this was a little tongue-in-cheek. You don't need to look too far...

Crean and Fleck. Mercy, what a collection of space aliens those two would be.

Sounds like Brohm to Purdue.

That would be a great hire for them. I would rather have him than Fleck, though I would also rather have him there than Fleck for selfish Illinois purposes, if that makes sense.

And Western Kentucky is without a coach, greatly increasing our chances of winning that game next year. Woohoo!

Not a done deal yet, but if they aren't getting the answers they want from Fleck than I could see them trying to wrap up Bhrom quickly.
