I agree her passing may finally allow or even “force” as sale to some extent

but this much is certain . as long as that family calls that shots, nothing will change

much like it took Dollar Bill Wirtz to pass before Rocky could make things happen .
I can't blame Virginia for not wanting to spend her final days mediating a family dispute over this stuff, but as for the rest of us, we are indeed left with the short end of the stick.

“Dick Butkus dies...”

And so, yet another connection to ‘When The Bears Were Really The Bears’ has left us.

There are two players in particular that quickly come to mind that represent the true heart and soul of the Chicago Bears... Dick Butkus and Walter Payton. They were the most ‘Bears’ of all the Bear players – at least in the past 60 years or so.

They left everything and more on the playing field each and every time they put on the uniform... body, soul, and spirit.

And not only did they most represent the Chicago Bear football franchise itself... they represented the entire City of Chicago. A City that for generations was identified with hard work, passion, dedication, and a love for the gridiron Game.

Go around the World and most people wouldn’t have been able to tell you who the Mayor was or what was the big news going on in the City. But they knew who Butkus and Payton were. And those Chicago icons were the Face of the City until the Greatest Roundball Player of All Time came to West Madison Street. And even after that... the World still knew who These Bears were.

The Bears have long lost their connection to past glories. They keep on trying to get there but it just hasn’t happened yet. And losing someone like Butkus is just another disconnect from what represented the best that the franchise has had to offer.

And where was Butkus from? The great South Side of Chicago. And we all know what colors he wore in college.

It’s been a tough sports year in the City. Major disappointments from all the pro sports franchises. And now, losing a legend makes things just a bit tougher.

It’s best to remember that this Man lived his life to the fullest. He lived to a good age and left a World of adoring and admiring fans. He will always be a beloved figure in the State of lllinois and around the World.

And – though they might be a bit hesitant to admit it – there will be be plenty of football fans from Up North who wear Green and Gold who will say a prayer in the coming days. A prayer of thanks for his being a great football player and maybe the fiercest competitor that the Greenies will ever have faced.

Via Con Dios, Mr. Bear.

Bears having another good start in the 1st half. Though weI saw this same performance last week and it all came crashing down.

On the plus side, D.J. Moore already has 137 yards receiving and 2 TDs. And we're barely a minute into the 2nd quarter.

Well, this is two weeks in a row with this kind of half time lead. As the coach just said, need to finish it the right way. We'll see.

D.J. Moore with the 2nd most receiving yards in a single game in Bears history. Alshon Jeffery has the record at 249 yards back in 2013 against the Vikings.
Would have the record if they let him score that touchdown that we still have yet to see evidence if he was out of bounds or not...

Since the Bears 7th is likely to be very early in the round, and Miami's 6th very late in that round, the Bears NEARLY gave him to them.
basically gave him to the Fins for a bag of old practice footballs

when all is said and done:
Bears gave up a late first round choice in 2023 draft in exchange for a bag of old footballs

a worse trade than Cubs getting Ernie Broglio for Lou Brock

you would be hard pressed to come up with a worse trade than what we gave up to get Claypool and what we got back 11.5 months later

Quit tip-toeing around the issue and tell us how you really feel. :)
