If this goes into long extras, you think the Cubs will be able to shuttle anyone in to help the bullpen tomorrow?
Also: You heard it here first, Anthony Rizzo, 2016 NL MVP.

I was fully aware going into this season that Jason wasn't getting 185 million to be a slugger but to have absolutely 0 doubts that he wasn't getting a hit in that situation is something I can't explain.
I'm just bummed out by this whole thing.
Why is Chapman a "garbage human"?...
And then Chapman himself - what does it say that I was glad to hear the Cubs didn't talk extension, because I want to minimize the amount of time I have to watch and, by extension, quasi-cheer for, a garbage human?...

Because he abused the mother of his children.

You mean because she started it? She read a text on his phone that she didn't like and she went after him. There is evidence available that refutes some myths surrounding this incident.Because he abused the mother of his children.

You still don't put your hands around her neck, and then fire 8 rounds against your garage wall.....
I'd love to go along with the whole narrative of him being a really terrible person, but I have no idea how he needed to defend himself from the attacking woman. There doesn't appear to be evidence of actual choking either, according to the reports. One incident of a woman going berzerk over a text and starting the confrontation doesn't make the male a "garbage human". It makes him human and suspended from the MLB for 30 games. You still don't put your hands around her neck, and then fire 8 rounds against your garage wall.....

Thank you!! I can't believe people are trying to justify his actions.
I'll find it very difficult to actively cheer for him. I'll be happy with any wins he contributes to, but not for him as a person. I hope he is taking the necessary therapeutic steps to improve himself.

I'm not going to justify his actions. But this is business. He's here to help win, not be a good person. Let's be honest, we win the series and he closes it out it won't take any meaning away for me or most fans. That's he crown jewel of the sports world right now. Winning he World Series with the Cubs. If winning with him disgusts you I would say get off your little moral high horse and support him as a player, not a person. That's what we are supposed to do as fans of a TEAM. Not fans of someone's personal life.

Serious question - are some of you the people who questioned the cardinals honoring Oscar?
I don't disagree with you guys. I totally understand. I'm just choosing to put his personal decisions in the back of my mind and forget about it and just focus on the player. I hope it works out.
I don't know if I literally did it on this board, but yes.
