Just wonder if Anderson may hire his son from Florida if K retires???

A great and fascinating write-up about Georgetown and Big John:

PSA to Hoosiers: this isn't the 1970s. You're not perceived as a top-5 super blue blood program right now. There's work to do to regain your place in the kingdom - just like at Illinois we're no longer perceived as a top 12-15 program. Lots of work to do.
Doesn't "felt like he got a raw deal" describe the last three IU coaching departures?
The guy who follows a legend (with the rare exception of a legacy) can never meet expectations. It seems to be an immutable law of sports.
Self did pretty well. Did Roy qualify as a "legend" at KU, though?
But your larger point stands, regardless. Tough to replace legends.
I don't think Roy is even close to legend status at Kansas. Consider lots of their fandom is not happy with Self who has won 13 consecutive P5 conference titles plus a national championship.
Roy's Kansas resume has to be considered a failure.
is NW trying to lock collins up long term? give him enough money and he should be set, barring K retiring
FWIW, while Williams may have not been a "legend" at Kansas, I don't think you could reasonably classify his time there as a "failure". He was head coach for 15 years (1988 to 2003) before reluctantly leaving for North Carolina, his alma mater. His record at KU was 418–101 (.805), an average of 27.8 wins per season. KU won 9 regular-season conference championships over his last 13 years. His teams went 201–17 (.922) in Allen Fieldhouse, once winning 62 consecutive games there. And I do remember KU fans being pretty upset when he left for North Carolina.
Now they get Self, who could sell sand to an Arab and the rest is history. And we've been wandering in the desert ever since. Hopefully BU will lead us to the Promised Land.
Pretty surprised Duquesne was able to get Keith Dambrot. He's won 20+ games 12 straight years. Great hire for them.

Dayton is expected to cast a wide net, but one name that could be viable is former Illinois coach John Groce

Interviewed for Miami (Ohio) job and would certainly be a great fit at Akron or as IU assistant. But this would be great spot for him.

The Dayton base would be absolutely FURIOUS if Groce became their HC.
Hate to sound like a program elitist (oh my God, my post is about to sound SO Illinois, haha), but it's so annoying when a historically irrelevant program or a program that has no built-in advantages that should lead its fans to expect good results comes to be SO entitled after they happen to have one good coach who transforms what that program is (Archie with Dayton) and then they just trash all these other programs like Illinois. They'd be lucky to get John Groce.

What, no Big 12 jobs open?

Disagree. Dayton is arguably the best/steadiest non-P5 job in terms of fan support, resources and history. They're top 50 all-time in wins, and the first non-P5 team to show up on this list which attempted to value each program based primarily on revenue (we're #15).
