Wasn't sure whether this was a Gottlieb joke or some sort of libertarian tax policy joke about the Steve Forbes mention right before.

Man, please let this happen. If he succeeds, they have the alum lifer every fanbase wishes for, good for them. If not, we get to watch an unqualified blowhard fail.
Plus he's off our TV screens!

Why would Doug Gottlieb for OSU be a better hire than, for example, Stephen Bardo for Illinois? He's an alum. He played basketball there. And he's on TV.

K-State is waiting to fire Bruce Weber first. Then they'll come in and swoop him up and give him a raise.
Has Gottlieb ever coached? At any level?
Wow, I guess Cal athletic department must be a super unappealing place to go right now. I wonder what he's waiting around for?

Not specific to Doug Gottlieb, but in general, I'm somewhat fascinated by tv people who throw their names in for coaching jobs without doing what most people who want to become coaches do... coach.
There's a lot of guys who seem to want the brass ring type job without putting in the work in the camp circuit, as an assistant, or as a coach at a lower level.
Of course not, why would you suggest such a ridiculous qualification?
Gotta be a courtesy interview. He just signed on with FoxSports.
Steve Kerr is going to leave a lot of bad hires in his wake.
MLB is chock full of examples. Chicago's two teams alone can fill up a pretty large book with names and narratives of the failures
