Coaching Carousel

I feel like IU fans would feel underwhelmed by Mack, Holtmann or Drew.

Chris Mack at IU would be scary. Mack is a phenomenal coach, especially come March. Give him the resources and fertile recruiting ground of IU and watch out. Little history on Mack: 8 Seasons, 7 Tournaments, 7-20 Win seasons, 4 Sweet-16s.

Obviously, he has yet to get over that S16 hump, but my gosh would I be nervous if Mack went to IU. But granted, Xavier is his alma mater.

Was not sure where to post this. I guess it can relate to the basketball world's constant maligning of the Big Ten, yet our conference always proves the haters wrong in March. Will the ACC/Pac12/Big East lovers ever learn???

The coaches in this conference are phenomenal.

"Consider that, going into the final weeks of the season, all but two of the 14 Big Ten teams were still in the mix for the NCAA tournament. That included an Illinois team considered so woeful it had already fired its coach!"

So wrap up this NIT thing, guys, win it and never go back. NCAA Tourney from now on out.

BOOM! Feed my ego.
The fact that we aren't hearing anything about Gregg or Archie leads me to believe it's either Alford, another coach in the tourney, or an NBA guy.

A friend and IU fan mentioned Shaka Smart as a possibility for them. Anyone else heard grumblings about him?

It wouldn't surprise me if he made the jump to a basketball centric place. UT, Austin, and Texas as a whole is not that place. That said, he can get havoc athletes in Texas. I don't know if he can get those guys at Indiana if he doesn't bat .1000 with in-state recruiting.
